    Hi,
Just been offered the following through orange upgrades.
    HTC Hero - £96
    400 mins
    300 texts
    unlimted landlines
    unlimted internet
    18 months.
    £24.47 Per month

That but with the phone free is more what I would expect if you pushed them.
  • I just spoke to Orange Retentions and the women I spoke to mentioned that every time you ring up and get an offer from them that they reduce your loyalty bonus by £60, can anyone confirm if that is true?
  • I've never heard of a loyalty bonus, I'm with O2 and never heard of this.

How does the loyalty bonus work?
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)

For some reason the Hero is still really expensive. I'm in same predicament with three but am going to wait now and possibly leave.

T Mobile are doing the G2 (their name for the Hero) on some great deals on their website!

    Smells like bulls*it to me...

Good sales tactic though, make you panic buy a deal from them rather than shop around... very clever.
  • Free SE W995 (Red) with 400 minutes,
    unlimited text and 500mb internet.
All for £20 a month, contract 18 months.
    Got the offer just now

    No it is true.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

Can you expand on how you know this? Or show me evidence?

Please forgive my scepticism but I work in sales so know most of the tricks.

Edit, just noticed you work for Orange (not sure if that makes you more or less believeable :D).... if it is true then its still a very cunning sales tactic... make people panic buy rather than shop around....

I wouldn't bother ringing them anyway, let them do the running.... lots of good deals out there at the moment so if they don't want to keep a loyal customer then **** them. :p

    Hey everyone...

Three days of 12 hour shifts and I'm finally off again...so my updates

    1) Loyalty bonus does not decrease by £60 everytime we make an offer. I save offers, call a customer back and then do another one if they change their mind on something so the value is exactly the same.

    2) The 750mb data cap on the iPhone DOES NOT mean you'll be cut off if you exceed it. It's fair usage so we wouldn't cut you off, it's just a guide we try and get you to adhere to.

    3) The 500mb data bundle will work with the iPhone but some features will be unavailable on the handset if you don't have the iPhone tariff, I can't remember what they are but when I do I'll let you know!

    4) The Satio is not being pulled. CPW generic handsets had old software on, and they gave customers the opportunity to return them due to the freezing etc or wait for the update. The Satio is out of stock, no stock updates so no idea when it's back in.

I think those offers have been pulled. Also off topic im with three and interested i the Hero. When i quoted they went to T-mobile website and the offers that I saw a week or two ago werent there. Was hoping they would be to see if they would match it.
