Orange Retention Offers

Assuming I have followed the previous threads correctly..
Just wanted to confirm you can use the 500mb for the iPhone. The iPhone utilises a standard IP data connection via the Orange APN.
I'm currently using my iPhone on my old Orange contract. It is a standard Select 500 plan with 250mb internet browsing. All my data charges are covered.
I think whoever told you that you need a specific bolt on.. was getting confused with the Blackberry internet service (BIS).
As long as you only stream music and video via a wireless network like at home.. you'll be hard pushed to use 500mb..
Thanks for that, althouh I do understand the difference with the Blackberry product
A colleague was the one who told me about the iPhone internet bundle, personally I thought it was a little dodgy but I'm definitely going to look into it tomorow.0 -
Thanks in what instances would it more likely to take it above that, for instance if I was using it out and about?
Depends where you spend the majority of your time..
Everything you do on a private network like home, work, uni etc is free.
Public wifi access has never appealed to me. If I want to know something, I'm unlikely to start diving round for a public hotspots.. I also try not to spend my time lingering in MacDonalds, Airports or Costa Coffee!
Any other area means you're using your bundled data plan.. The odd funny YouTube clip in the pub is about as harsh as it gets for me.
iPhone apps only transfer the data your interested in (because you already downloaded the app bit) therefore its quicker and cheaper. (eg. The SkySports app gives me all the footy scores without having to trawl through the full website.) As I mentioned before, I'm on a 250mb limit.. I use my phone a lot , and never worry about going over my limit.
I would say however I have limited patience web surfing on the iPhone. It's to small to do anything comfortably and quickly.. so sometimes I don't bother.0 -
IMHO I very very much doubt you'd get it down to £30 p/m. The plan itself is normally £35 p/m and thats an online discount. You then need to add an unlimited internet bundle for £4.89 a month taking the total up to £40 p/m or thereabouts.
To get it at £30 you'd have to give the customer a discount of £240 for £10 off for 24mths and then give the handset for free. I'd give it a shot but I'm not entirely sure. You would need to speak to retentions rather than upgrades though. The guys there are really good and I'm sure they'd be able to make a deal with you.
Thanks for the advice lufcgirl. Having just read about the HTC Dragon (which is rumoured to be released in the next month or so), I might hold out for a while and see what that is like. Indecisive - that's me0 -

What are the chances of Orange offering HTC Dragon? I would have liked to get the HD2 as an alterantive but Orange don't have that phone. I need to stay with Orange (it's complicated) but keep hanging on to see what else is coming up on their 'menu' of devices.0

I'm in the same boat as tempsc. Don't know how long I can wait for as I want a new toy to play with over xmas.
I've been thinking:
1. should i wait for the HTC Dragon?
2. should i go for the HTC Hero?
3. I've had a blackberry before but should I go for the new Bold?
4. I really want an Ipod but the cheapest I can work out is that it would cost me £815 over the term of the contract on £35 per month 18 month 16GB phone - can i justify that?
So many questions/options - just don't know what to do!!!!0 -
For some reason the Hero is still really expensive. I'm in same predicament with three but am going to wait now and possibly leave.0
-
IMHO, if you wait for the Dragon a) it will be expensive when it comes out and b) there will be another even better phone in the pipeline that you then want to wait for.
I would steer well clear of the Blackberry's and get a Hero, they are amazing!0 -
Hi,
Just been offered the following through orange upgrades.
HTC Hero - £96
400 mins
300 texts
unlimted landlines
unlimted internet
18 months.
£24.47 Per month
Or over 24 months same monthly cost and tariff, but £26 for the Hero.
What do you guys think of these offers? I'm not a high spender -been on a £15 discount tariff and don't often go over it. I think this was through upgrades and not retentions. Would they do me a better deal, how do I get put through to them?
Cheers!0 -
does anyone ever get 12 month contracts nowadays? I really don't want to get stuck on another 18 month deal. And no way am I going in for a deal that lasts 2 years.
Likelihood of me getting this deal?
HTC Tattoo
400 Mins
300+ Txts
500mb+ Internet
12 Month Contract
£25 a Month?
Considering I can play the "I'm leaving if you don't..." card.0
