Orange Retention Offers

  • Hi, I currently am on a £15 per month tarriff and get 100mins/unlimited texts. However, I took up the contract almost 18 months ago and got £150 cashback via quidco, making the actual monthly payment in the region of £6.

I got the phone for my teenage daughter who has proven considerable maturity and only ever gone over her monthly charges once whilst she was abroad.

Anyway, she would now like a new handset, ideally a Samsung tocco lite. In an ideal world she'd like unlimited texts, about 100/200 mins and I'd like to keep the monthly expenditure below £15 per month if poss. What would be the best way to do this? Her Dad is willig to buy her a handset so I could renew the contract with Orange on a sim-only basis - if I were to do this, do you think they'd do a deal at all?

Or does anyone know of any good offers on this, or a similar handset with other providers maybe?

    Thnaks in advance

I don't think so, looking online I can't even see the phone offered on a £15 price plan so they must be giving you a few discounts already!
lufcgirl, will Orange waive the remainder of an existing contract if a customer signs up to an iPhone contract?
Started comping for 2012. Won: iPad 2 - thanks SueMaggie; 10,000 Tesco Clubcard Points - thanks Maybe1; HABA Terra Kids Construction Set - thanks purplevamp.

Are you talking writing off a couple of days here or 12 months?!?!

Either way I think the answer will be NO. They just are not allowed to discount iPhone deals.

Does that mean you can get good deals on the Hero then? ;)

Don't know what you class as a "good deal" but TMobile are doing some great deals on the Hero at the moment.

Its still a high priced phone because its excellent.

I can understand why lufcgirl prefers the iPhone - its a girl thing. I will admit the iPhone looks better. The Hero IS better though.

Any facts to back that up?

    Hi. I've been with Orange for over 10 years. I haven't had an upgrade for two years but now, my SPV M3100 (HTC) is sick and needs replacing. Ideally, I would have liked an iphone but no deals are to be had on that..... So, here's what they are offering me;

Any handset I want APART from Iphone

    18Months @ £40/mnth
    900 x net mins
    500 txts
    U/L landlines
    500mb data

    12months @ £40 / mnth
    600 x net mins
    500txts
    200 mins landlines

Considering I haven't had an upgrade for two years I was slightly disappointed with the 12 month offer. Guy suggestefd I might want to talk with the 'Loyalty Team'.

Any advice as to what I may be able to negotiate with Orange?

    Any help appreciated.
  • Just a quick question as I still havent made my mind up what to do, am almost tempted to live a little and get an iphone but due to my usage would be far more value for money if I was to get an upgrade on a cheaper line rental and then buy an Iphone on PAYG, a couple of questions will another Orange Pay monthly sim work on the Iphone and will 500mb of web be enough and should I get the wifi as well?

I've seen the good deals on TMobile, that's why I asked about Orange. TMobile reception in my area is shi-ite. £22.50 on TMobile, £30 on Orange.

As far as I know, the 500mb of data doesn't work on the iPhone, it needs a particular product added to the account (this is what I've been told and had a god awful argument with a customer a few days back about it!). It's £10 per month for unlimited data on the iPhone. And yes, providing it's an Orange iPhone or sim free, a contract sim will work in it.

Thanks for the response, do you think it would be a bit too cheeky for me to haggle for something like this with my upgrade deal?

With regards to the poster above and the HTC Hero/G2 on T mobile, do Orange match other networks deals? as I would be very tempted to ditch my Iphone dream and go for that for the prices that they are offering on their website.
