£20 on the £14.67 tariff with 24 month contract is a good deal?

Sorry Jon, may be my addled mind, but I don't follow your last post?

The great thing about the OVP tariff (and the reason Orange want rid of them) it there is no monthly line rental.

All you pay for is the calls/text you make in the month. Result, your monthly spend can be less than a quid if you don't use the phone that much.
  • Ah yes I'm with you now sorry, that's exactly why I had it, and for the first few years I enjoyed mainly very low bills. Sadly as I now use my phone alot more the bills have gone up (as expected), so it's probably reached the stage where it would be more economical to be on a contract with a set monthly cost, even if on the OVP I'd sometimes be slightly under that or sometimes slightly over, I figure it'll even itself out over a year. If you can follow my rambling post!

    800 mins
    550 text

it is a panther 30, with double minutes, 250 extra texts and free internet for half price line rental.

was intending to wait for the 9700, but have an new phone itch that needs scratching...

I'd keep an eye on how much data the Dext uses, not sure if 80mb will be enough.....

The dext looks like a nice phone Norbertsmum, can you let us know what you think of it.

Seems like a decent price, hope I can get something similar when I renew on Voda in a month.

Would agree with the above about data though... with a phone like that if you're into facebook / e-mailing / using apps then you could easily use a lot more.

The entire point of the phone is social networking and email, it's constantly connected to the internet, it's going to get through alot of data, I really don't think 80mb will be enough if the phone is used to it's full potential, it's just under 3mb per day, definately monitor it

I have just got an HTC hero on an 18 month contract free with
    400 mins
    300 texts
    Unlimited landlines
    For £15 a month

Very happy with this deal and have added unlimited internet for another fiver a month as apparently they were unable to add this to the deal... they offered free internet if I went on to a two year contract but 18 months is plenty for me I think.
