1 it will cost me to end the contract. AND i will lose my number (i have had it for 10 years) to become a new customer with orange
2. get a payg iphone!
3. wait till may!
the 3 things i dont want to do ;-)... so do i wait to see what Voda start offering or shall i argue the toss over option 1?

Best thing to do will be get another phone for example the satio on a tariff that will match the iphone tarrif i.e unlimted internet. sell the phone on ebay and get an iphone.
thats what I will be doing. I was offered the iphone tarrif on with the hero for £15 month the same tarrif with iphone is £45 a month. + the phone would cost with £45 around £175. apple are tightening the ropes on networks not to give any loyalty discounts.
If you get a PAC and go to another network and come back you will lose your 10 years loyalty0 -

Which means nothing if you want an iPhone. Regardless of how much you spend or how long you've been with us, everyone pays the same.
Which I think is fair.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

not realy as what you can do is get another phone like the satio on a similar tarif to the iphone. sell the new upgrade phone and get the iphone on pay as you go. might cost you around £200 + the money u got for your upgrade phone and by the 32gb iphone cheaper if you get the 16gb. overall you will be saving a lot of money0 -
At last, I'm several months over my contract but have been holding out for the iPhone launch in the hope that it would make their other tarrifs more sensible, especially for the hero handset......
I just got the HTC Hero, 300 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data (limited to 500Mb) for £25 a month on 18 months.
FYI - my average spend over the last contract was £43 a month on a £35 a month contact, although the last 3 months I've been spending next to nothing. Her original offer was 200 mins and 80MB of data.
It's not as good as the guy a couple of posts up but I'm happy with it0 -

i think its because of your last 3 months. Orange judge your spend and wot to offer you based on your last 3 months bill. To get a good deal best is not spend extra all year and then on your last 3 months spend slighly extra.0 -

Hi thanks for the good suggestion, I may try that with Orange, as I notice on mobiles.co.uk you can get the phone (albeit on redemption) for £22.50 per month (for 18 months) for the same deal that I am paying £33 at the moment for (1200mins and unlimited texts) with the added bonus of 500mb data per month and reckon if I then by the PAYG Iphone it will work out about £36per month net. But that is presuming Orange are willing to negotiate on the price for my line rental.
Incidentally would my contract sim work fine in a PAYG mobile?0 -

Remeber orange upgrade normally will not give you a good offer. when you want to upgrade go through to orange disconnects team as they are the ones that can give you that great deal that you might be eligible for0 -

This looks like a option. i currentley have a Blackberry (free internet and things) and i pay £25 per month.
So i can not really justify paying more through a contract for the Iphone.
Might get a second hand or PAYG and swap the sim.!
in the long run it will be cheaper.0
