Upgrade team not budging on FOC HTC Hero. Want upgrade fee of £145. Would be handing in my notice next month.0

Wasn't expecting it but Orange beat the dialaphone O2 deal for the Nokia 5800 for me even though I have never come close to using my inclusive texts or calls. Shade under £15pm for 600mins, unlimited texts, free 5800, 18 months. First offer too, didn't bother negotiating because that suits me fine.0

Just been talking to Orange. My current contract is £15 a month for 100 mins and unltd txts over 18 months, now at an end.
Phoned up after the Blackberry Curve 8900. Was offered originally £18.5 per month but phone for £127.
Then offered £20 a month for 18 months, but the lowest I could get the phone down to was £37. I've been with Orange for about 10 years.
I told them I was only prepared to pay £20 a month for 18 months and nothing for the phone, but they weren't budging, so the PAC code is in the post!! Was quite shocked, I've always got my phones through retentuions in the past and always got a result.0 -
You should have took the option to pay £37 for the phone, after all it's only £37, that phone would cost £300 sim free. I'll assume that deal also comes with Blackberry internet, £20 a month is abit of a bargain and you won't get the same deal anywhere else0

Even retentions have their limits. The system will let them give you offers based on your spend over the last 6 months (doesn't matter if you've been a customer for years).
So if you've not spent much you won't get a great offer. The cost of the handset has to come from somewhere, the phones aren't really free you know. . .0 -
I spoke today to a much nicer guy who was very helpful.

Now armed with your PAC code, go and find another provider that will offer you a Blackberry 8900 free for £20 a month!
Numptie. :rolleyes:I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
unlimited texts, 300 minutes and magic numbers with a good deal sim for only £13.69.0

Agreed, after having a quick look, best deal I can find with a free Blackberry 8900 on an 18 month contract is £35 a month, or £25 a month and the phone is £250 quid. My advice is phone back, say you've changed your mind and hope they offer you the same deal0 -
I would call back and haggle some more!
A couple weeks ago I managed to get...
Free Blackberry Curve 8900
1000 anytime minutes
Unlimited texts
Unlimited blackberry internet
£19.58 per month!! 18 month contract.
I was only on PAYG with them for about 2 years, spending £10 per month! although I went on holiday once and got ripped off about £60 on internet without realising. My spend with them has not been much!
This was the first deal they offered me, I had to pick my chin off the floor and stop myself from shouting 'YES!'
I was prepared to spend about £35pm for those minutes and texts with the free phone!
Ring again!0
