I got very similar to that, with unlimited landlines instead of texts, and a mobile broadband dongle with 500MB per month for 14.47ppm (18 months). Again, not the newest phone but the Tocco will do. Ditto on the chuffed bit.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -

That is good, though did they actually tell you it was "unlimited internet" or did they say 500mb. As far as I understand, Orange don't do any unlimited packages just a set amount and if you exceed it you pay for it.0 -

Indeed, their 'unlimited' mobile internet has a Fair Usage Policy of 500MB'sTry to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -
See this is what makes me a little grumpy. It's not even *close* to unlimited, and unless I've misunderstood something, once you go through that 500mb they don't warn you, they just charge you. T-Mobiles unlimited isn't unlimited either, but at least they just send you a letter if you go over rather than charge you extra.
When it comes time to upgrade for me, if they say unlimited I will press them on how exactly it's unlimited. I mean if I had a bag of 50 potatoes I'd not go hungry for quite some time, but that doesn't mean I've got an unlimited bag of potatoes.
This sort of stuff really grinds my gears, and yes I am quite a saddo for getting so wound up about it.

LOL! Yeah, T-mobile and Three seem to be the most relaxed in terms of their limit and when it comes to exceeding their inclusive allowance!
I guess using Wi-fi whereever possible (on capable phones) can save you using your data allowance.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -
I just hate the idea of having to be concious of my download allowance. I've read some reports that suggest 500mb is absolutely plenty, and some (people using the G1) say that they use a moderate about and hit 400-600mb a month.
I'll make use of the 7 day cancellation period with orange and do some really intensive testing to find roughly how much I use a day. If it's too much I'll haggle with them or sod off to T-Mobile.

Be careful! As soon as you turn on that handset and use it, the cooling period is void. The handset cannot be customised/used.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -
Oh nuts, I thought you could do what you want for the duration of the cooling off period. I actually mentioned my plan to a CSR a few days ago and she made no mention of that.
I'll have to double check on that, thanks very much for the heads up though!0 -
Well, looks like i may be cancelling and switching to another supplier. Have spoken with a few people today at retentions and they have said that i can get the Hero and the I8910HD on my two voice lines for free, but only if i switch to a £40 per month tariff (from £35), and lose my £10 per line loyalty bonus (so it works out at £15 per month per line more expensive). They also said they cant offer any bundles at all with it, so no data for free. very disappointed in them today0

That's very crap given that actually the Hero is available free on T-Mobile for new customers from 36.50 a month on an 18 month contract. 800 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited net*. It might be worth contacting them and explaining the above and see what they can do.
*Unlimited in this case means 3gbs, which is pretty stonking for a mobile.0
