    Hi all,

i've been a long term orange customer average bill about £40 - £50 per month generally use between 500 - 600 minutes and send about 200 - 300 txts last 18 mths i've had a blackberry curve and therefore use the internet while out and about quite excessively last month i used nearly 50mb of data, luckily all free with my data bundle.

I called up upgrades and they seemed to offer me any phone i asked about free of charge i'd probably be interested in having the newest blackberry curve however I'd like to be able to cut a deal with them does anybody know if they are able to make deals regarding their mobile broadband? also i asked for free Orange Premier but the woman just said this was a system thing and nobody could overide it, i'm a doubter!

What else should I be looking at in terms of talk/txt/data plan?

If i request a PUK code, no doubt triggering a call from retentions dept do i have to use the PUK or can it just be used for bargaining? the temptation is there to go get a iPhone on O2 but i dont know if a Crackberry fan can be converted!!

    pls help?!

First thing you should be looking at is reducing your monthly bills while at the same time having atleast the same amount of minutes, if not more. It's hard to say, but I don't see why you can't reduce your bill to around 25-30 quid a month on an 18 month with a new phone with more minutes, but it depends on how pushy you are!

The newest blackberry is the Bold, but the HTC Hero has just been released on Orange, and not long from now, the I phone 3G (not the newer 3GS) should also be available too.

Not sure about Broadband, maybe take it up with retention, say you are getting a better overall package from 02 coupled with the Iphone 3GS, so unless you can get a better deal or equivalent, you won't stay.

And you don't have to use the PAC code, hence carrying on your extisting contract.
Try to imagine nothing ever existed...

Really? I've heard lots of rumours about iphone on Orange but do you know this for sure?

I really want an iphone but they are just too expensive as I have no leverage with O2. As I've been with Orange for 10 years I reckon my retention power is worth too much to quit, so iphone on Orange would make me pretty happy.

Been out of contract for ages and been offered choice of handset, I wanted Windows Mobile but the only thing they could offer was the Toshiba which is just far too big:

    1600 minutes
    1000 texts
    unlimited landline calls
    500mb data
    £29.36 + £6 for Care

Has anyone managed to get Care included or any other extras?

    Orange have just offered me

    Nokia 6700 black
    1200mins x net
    unlimited texts
    internet
    £15 /month

    2 year contract though

Is that a good deal? I already got a phone so probably can sell it for £150 making it come to £10/month

What do you think? Need to make a decision by 5.30pm

I spoke to orange today about the iphone and he said its just all talk at the mo and doesn't seem to think they'll get it anytime soon...

Also annoyed me that they're advertising the n97 as coming soon but they're not even sure they're def getting it.. still in talks with nokia regarding the software :(
  • So I gave up waiting for the iphone to magically appear on Orange and phoned this morning. Initially went through to upgrades, who wanted to charge me full price for the HTC Hero and put me on a rubbish tariff. Said I was going to leave and go to O2 for an iphone and the girl said "ok, bye!" and hung up!

Phone back and went through to retentions instead. Got a couple of offers after saying that I wanted to get an iphone but the Hero had caught my eye.

    Offer 1
    £40 per month
    1200 mins
    Unlimited text and data
    £28.50 for phone
    18 months

    Offer 2
    £24 per month
    800 mins
    unlimited text and data
    £140 for phone
    18 months

Offer 2 worked out cheaper over the 18 months, so I went for that. I also forgot to ask about a 24 month tariff, which again could have possibly got the price down a bit more. Think I could have pushed a bit harder for a cheaper phone price, but they kept saying that they base your offer on your current phone usage. As I've been on a cheapo student tariff, my usage looks low, but in reality I deliberately don't use my phone much as I know I have so few minutes. Hopefully being on a beefier tariff might earn me some better offers in 18 months time!

Ultimately I'm happy with the deal, as was potentially looking at over £40 a month or a basic phone. My current phone is still in good shape so it was only worth upgrading for something much snazzier (imho).

Hi Just been offered an orange deal by retentions, anyone had anything better? I have been out of contract with them for a year but carried on paying the monthly lin erental without actually renewing. My previous dea was £35 a month, 1500 mins any network, free phone which i got back then spv m3100, free unlimitded texts, free home broadband and free evening and wekend internet on my phone.

Id been waiting for a year to renew my contract but kep getting promised of a htc touch pro, when that never materalised in june 09 they said they were getting the touch pro 2 so i waited but then they said business customers only. After argueing with them and threatening to mov cos of al the hassle and now they arent giving me the phone due to it being business only, i said just credit my account with the amount and i'll go buy. to that they said no you need to get handset etc so i said id get cheapest then you can credit account for me to buy the touch pro 2. they agreed at first bt said cant do later.

anyway i recently rang back and spoke to a guy on retentions, he said its al lchanged now, cant offer miuch deals. you cant do bolt ons like they used to etc. anyway he was only offering 1100 mins for 32 pounds from the advertised 40 for the dolphin 45 package i think. anyways after a lot of persistant i got on the phone to a manager and he said the same thing but that he has some descreration. I told him i accepted last time but saw a better deal etc later and the best deal after a lot of rangling he could offer was:

    £29 a month for:
    1500 any network mins
free phone - any to be selected by me, and he said im guessing i'll get the most expensive one to which i replied yes.
    unlimited texts
    free home broadband
500mb unlimited internet on my phone
    orange maps
and they googled the cost of the touch pro 2 and offered a £400 cash back so i can go buy the phone too, so 2 phones!
tried getting more extras like icture messages etc but he said no. unsure what phone to get from orange as intend to maybe sell. But i do share dealing so thinknig i wouldnt mind getting a phone that can have real time share price updates etc

anyone get anything better? they said they have stoped bolt ons due to them making a loss. but i can tell some lie because they also said they cant offer credits to the account but one person on orange said its who you speak to on the day!

wow sounds way too good to be true...

i thought so too but doesnt sem that great when you look at other offers, when you take out the extra 400 quid credit, might try and get more out of em before i committ. tjey waiting on me to select a phone on top of my touch pro 2 credit. any ideas which phone you can use to view share prices real time applets or i can sell getting getting a high price for? is it the htc hero? or the htc snap due to be released soon. APparently n97 has had several issus and before it was released it has been recalled twice and they unsure if and when it may come on sale on orange

You're looking at a package worth over £45pm, plus the £400 credit (which I've never heard of before), if I got offered something like that, I'd be snapping at their fingers straight away.

As for which phone, prob best to open a new thread asking, you'd prob get more views.

Your situation sounds exactly like mine, only you've now got a solution!

    Posted this yesterday: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1840269

I know it's a big ask, but could you give me some info I could refer to when I call again, so they could see it's already been offered to someone else who's been sent round the houses like I've been. Tried twice with them already and not really getting anywhere other than lots of "I'm sorry, we can't do that one".

    Thanks in advance.
