Got a call from Orange today, offered me the package below which I accepted
nokia 6700 classic
400 mins
300 text
unlimited landline calls
magic numbers
80mb internet
£9.79 per month, 18month contract
Pretty happy with the deal apart from the measly 80mb internet, wonder if that will last 5 days of web surfing at all.0 -
hi all. i wonder if someone can give advice on this that i have received today from orange customer services. i have been with orange for 2 years on a £35 a month dolphin package. im now up for an upgrade.
i have been offered the following phones for free:-
blackberry pearl, sony ericsson w705, samsung 5600, nokia 6700, nokia 5800
she quoted me for a 24 month contract,
700 mins x network
unlimited txt
£22.02
if i opted for the blackberry i could add £5 extra for unlimited free data
taking it to £27.02
OR
400mins x network
unlimited txt
unlimited data
£22.62
if i want the blackberry curve, id have to pay £97.50 for the phone.
what extra can i expect by going to retentions or is this pretty good.
i want to pay between £15 and £20. not sure what phone i want yet, as im reading up on what the blackberry does that i cant do on a normal phone with internet.
any advice?
thanks0 -
You should always go to retentions, they'll always better what upgrades offer you..0

Here are Orange's retention offers for me,

£30 per month
1600 x-net minutes
unlimited txtx / internet
18 month contract
nokia 6700
Option 2:
£30pm
Nolia N85 (i have to pay £60 toward the phone)
1200mins
unlimited txts
80MB internet usage on the phone per month
18 month contract
Not too impressed!0 -

As you say you're not using it much, therefore, I would think, your spend in a month is just your contract amount. They can see their not getting any £ out of you, so the offer is low. Its all done on the amount of profit they can make from you. . .0 -

I thought as much - I might give them one more try today and plead with them....0 -

Its always worth trying more than once, if you get an agent that's been there a while they know how to play the system. But even retentions have their limits, the computer will only allow them certain offers and they can't over ride it...0 -

Let me get this right....
You're on Everyday50, spend just the line rental (£14-£15.50 a month) and you think the offer I've highlighted is not good???
1200 mins normally costs 45 quid a month. I'm surprised you've been offered anything to be honest.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
