Just coming to the end of my first contract with orange..i pay about £34 inc insurance and im on dolphin 35 tariff. If any of that info helps as to how 'loyal' i am

Last I heard the Hero isn't due til 17th(ish). It'll be very popular so there won't be many deals on it in the first month or so.
Your best bet is to told off along as possible, the longer after launch the better the deal (unless you pay well over your plan price each month).
Call upgrades, what ever they offer you say no, they'll get you to retentions (who have the better offers) and see what they can do for you.
Calling week days between 9 and 5 is good as there are more agents on and they can spend longer with you. Good luck...0 -
I've been looking at the Hero too, although I want to see one in action before committing. I went in to store today but they only had a dummy, also no info as to when they would have a working model in store.
I've been on Orange for about 10 years now, and I've had a contract for about 6 or 7 years, so I must have built up some loyalty points by now!
My current contract is £20p/m for not much call time, but unlimited texts and internet. Last time I renewed I got the phone free when I should have paid for it (can't remember exact deal as it was over 2 years ago) and a cheaper tariff than existed at that time (Think back then the cheapest tariff was about £25, although again, it was too far back to remember).
Ideally I'd like a similar deal to the one Andy is hoping for above, so I'd be interested to hear how other people get on with Hero.0 -
I really should get my contract down - haven't changed the tarriff for years. Recently, I have been seeing a lot of good deals out there.
My question is, that I don't want a handset, I recently bought a new one sim-free.
Is it possible to use the savings from this transferred across to reducing the costs of the contract? Or is it worthwhile to take the upgrade and sell it?
I see that on SIM only they have 600 mins for £19.57. But I feel I'm entitled to something a bit better than that - I've been with Orange for 11 years now. Anyone know the maximums I can push it to?0 -
Hi All. Just wondered if I could get some views on the offers put to me by Orange and suggestions of what phone would be the best to get.
I am currently in month 15 of an 18 month contract. My current talk plan is the racoon 35 discounted to £25 per month and my average spend per month is over £200. I decided to call orange retentions today to see what they could offer me and was offered the following.
Option A
18 month contract
Any choice of phone
2200 minutes (1200 plus additional 1000 minutes)
Unlimited landline minutes
500 texts
500MB of browsing
£19.58 a month
Option B
18 moth contract
Any choice of phone
Unlimited minutes to any network
Unlimited landline minutes
1000 texts
500B of browsing
Free Maps
£34.25 a month
I was a bit wary of the second option when he said unlimited minutes to any mobile but he said they have that on their website and its called the racoon 75 talk plan and that he was effectively discounting it by £40 for me. However having checked the orange website it says that the allowance is just 3000 minutes and not unlimited as stated by the retentions representative.
Considering how much I spend does anyone think either of these deals are good value or is there anything else I could possibly push for? I tend to text abroad alot from the UK and also do you think I could push for a free internet dongle for my laptop with free internet usage?
I wanted t0 get a 12 month contract with unlimited landline minutes so I could upgrade early but he said that he was unable to offer unlimited landline minutes on a 12 month contract. He said he could offer me a 12 month contract but the minutes would be low compared to my usage and that he wouldnt be able to offer such great deals on these.
Also whch of the latest phones would you guys recommend. I'm looking at possibly he Sony W995 or the Samsung Omnia HD.
Any views appreciated.0 -
Hi, I've been reading these threads for a while and they have been very helpful.
I'm currently month 15 into an 18 month contract on Canary 30 where I get
400 cross net minutes
500 cross next texts
For £25 a month which is more than enough for me. However, I would now like a blackberry curve. I spoke to customer services today and they said I would have to pay £127 for the curve and £5 per month for the blackberry bundle, bringing my payments to £30 pm.
I of course said no and was put through to retentions where I was offered the following:
One of payment of £27 for the curve
600 mins
500 text
500mb
All for £29.36 pm (this has been discounted by £5pm).
I said I would think about it and call back. Does anyone think I can do any better with orange. To be honest what I get now is plenty for me I just want the 500mb thrown in for free so I don't go over £25 per month.
Does anyone think this is possible? Or not because I still have 3 months left on my current contract?
Many thanks.

They are both not bad, to get 3000 mins on any other network looking at around £80 per month inc unlimited txt/internet etc.0 -

To be honest for a £200 average spend i'd have thought you could get a 12 month contract if they go off spend and profit0
