My 18 month contract is up in a month and I was wondering what to expect. I'm on Racoon £30 a month with free broadband just now however am not a big user of either minutes or texts so am more interested in reduced line rental and the kind of phone I could get on renewal.

What could I realistically expect as a retention deal on, say, two phone options (i) HTC TyTNII or (ii) Samsung i600 (I'm looking for a phone with wi-fi) whilst keeping the free broadband?

Any help would be appreciated before I contact Orange. Also, what is best time to contact them - after the contract term is up or a month before as I presume I'd have to provide the usual 30 days notice if I wanted to go elsewhere but would want to port my existing number to any new provider if it came to that?
  • Hi my other half contract renewal date is due now ... i was wondering though as we have been with orange 5+ years now .... and would like a nice deal ;-)

she is looking for the LG Viewty , 900 or so minutes , at least 100 txt , and if possible some Internet usage included ...and to top all this off , a 12 month contact wud be exelent .... she is currently avg'ing £50 to £60 so a little less wud also be great ... ..

does orange offer any plans that could match these requirements ???

    thanks

    I'm in Month 15.

My handset has stopped working and they are are offering me:

    Dolphin 35 - £35 as per normal
    W850i Sony Ericsson for £30
    18 months free phone insurance

They say they are ruled by there computers now and that is the best they can do!!

Retentions say they are no longer flexible!!

Even played the ... PHONES 4 U would buy me out of contract to have a new one!!

    What do I do?

My contract is up next week. They reckon the best they can do for me is £20 per month for 500 minutes and unlimited texts and I can choose from Samsung U600, SE K810i, SE W660i, SE W880i or Nokia N73.

I was hoping for a bit better than this so I asked for a price without a phone and they came up with 400 mins 100 text and unlimited off peak landline calls for £20 per month - which to me is a worse deal than the deal with the phone.

A similar deal with FindaPhone is about £17 per month for the K810i - so I guess that it's worht paying the extra with Orange to avoid the hassle and uncertainty with cashbacks.

Anyone got a better retention deal at this sort of level of minutes?
