Orange Retention Offers

I think the key is whether you're bothered about the handset you get or not.
The guy from retentions offered me a deal with a Sony Ericsson W595 200 mins unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £9.79, but I am looking for quite a good/new phone.0 -
Phoned up Orange a month before my contract ended, told them I wanted to leave - was previously on a £30/month contract, 400 minutes, unlimited texts.
Got offered the same deal but at half the price, but the phones on offer weren't that great. 6120 slide was the best, I think. When I asked about getting the internet as well, it got complicated, with them offering me £80 credit if I went to the next level up but only if I took certain phones. In the end I left to go to O2 purely because the reception I got on Orange (zone 2 in London, shockingly enough) was awful. They offered me the same deal when I phoned up for my PAC code, too.0 -
After reading this thread for a couple of weeks I recently refused delivery of a rubbish upgrade deal- 200 mins unlimited texts and a nokia 6301 for £20 per month.
Last night I phoned retentions for 1st time and without any haggling at all got a free nokia 6220 (because all i want is to text and to have a decent camera), 400 minutes, 300 txts, unlimited landline calls, and 30 photo messages(mms bundle) per month for £9.79 for 18mths.
Should get my phone tommorrow. I'm delighted, thankyou so much to everyone who has posted here!:T
My contract ends in June by the way, and I was paying £35 per month for first 12 mths, then £30 per month for 6 mths. Was with O2 before that.0 -
That's a great deal doubledown. Well done"MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? IF WORD GETS OUT THATI'M MISSING FIVE HUNDRED GIRLS WILL KILL THEMSELVES."0

Had a free N95 18 months ago with 350 mins and 450 texts-£25. After a long argument I got 250mb net added on. With insurance and bits and pieces my bills were about £40-45.
Contract is up this week.
Wanted to keep N95-its great since I debranded it. Orange say though I must have a new handset, unless I go sim only where i'll lose all my loyalty and can't add on browsing.
So here is what the bloke offered me-
600 mins
500 txts
unlimited Orange to landlines
500mb web browsing
Nokia 5800 or N85,both with orange satnav
£20 per month,extra £5 for inusrance
N85 can make £300 on ebay!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Great deal, assuming that you want to sell the handset on Ebay, which I think you do.
Here's an alternative, though. You're currently going to be paying for the insurance, which is £5 a month (should be £6 a month, but that's a minor detail). You are unlikely to make £300 for the N85 on Ebay, because it is locked and branded. So there is a bit of a risk there on the price you'll get (plus Ebay fees), though you should be able to take a decent chunk off.
The alternative is to get a more basic phone and push for a £10 deal per month with a similar tariff. It is possible to get it that low, as myself and a few others on here have found out. You'd be looking at something like a Samsung G600 with that deal, which is still a perfectly functional phone. Then keep the phone and use that as a backup so you don't need the insurance. That effectively saves you £270 and is a no risk option providing that you can secure the £10 tariff. It's food for thought at least."MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? Hello all.
I lost my phone on a drunken valentines night out :rotfl:
A Nokia N95 which i acquired from a friend, which i unlocked due to the phone being locked to another network.
I haven't informed orange of my loss, but i have been paying the monthly bills since the 14th February when i lost my phone. I planned to pay my contract off and see it out, as it only had a few months remaining on the 18 month contract.
I was hoping to get a contract + new phone with another provider but all credit checks failed. So the only option i have is to stick with Orange.
My contract ended yesterday according to Orange. I went onto the Orange website and selected to renew my contract, because i was afraid if i didn't orange would automatically renew my dolphin 35 contract and i would therefore be paying for calling minutes that i would never use. I WAS on dolphin 35 paying at least £40 per month. I selected there lowest dolphin plan which was priced at around £20 for 200 anytime minutes and Unlimited Text Messaging.
I'm also wanting to upgrade my phone, can i renew my service plan THEN when i can afford it (wanting to upgrade to a Nokia N96 but need to pay £215 - £40 promotional discount = £175), choose to upgrade my phone? Probably next week.
I'm also needing to call Orange and arrange for a new SIM card to be sent to me, as i lost it with the phone. Is this just a simple case of canceling the old SIM card and sending out the new one?
I have an outstanding balance on this contract which has not been paid from last month. What are the chances of Orange scrubbing this outstanding balance of £39.16 from my account? As i haven't used the phone at all since February 14th or am i clutching at straws?
And how long do i have to buy the Nokia N96 from Orange WITH the promotional discount attached? I believe it's a discount for customers renewing contracts?
I hope someone can shed some light on this!RBS Overdraft - £700

You lost your phone mid Feb and you haven't told the network yet !!
You do realise if anyone finds it and starts making calls from it you're liable for the costs ?
You need to get on the phone right away and get the sim blocked.0 -
Its alright, the phone hasn't been used. I've been keeping a close eye on the usage since i lost it. Nothing, Zilch..
I'll cancel the SIM on Monday from works phone as I can't afford to call Orange at the present moment!

OK, but be aware it's possible to use upwards of a grands worth of calls (overseas) and premium rate texts in 24 hours. I've seen it done...0
