Orange Retention Offers

this may sound a stupid question but what difference between unlimited internet and say 500mb...?
Probably not alot. Unlimited tends to be subject to fair usage, not sure what this is though. 500m/b seems quite excessive and I guess it will only be reached with alot of downloading or streaming to the phone.0 -
With all the deals offered so far, none seem to have matched a no commitment 30 day rolling sim only deal like Solo 20.
I don't see a orange 800mb data bundle just the 500mb.
Personally a 1gb data allowance with the phone used as a modem on my laptop, I've saved taking out a mobile broadband contract as well....so I'm pleased to have saved at least £10/month with no contract either.Well just spoke to Orange and got:
Blackberry Bold - free
400 mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet
for.... £24.47
I am quite pleased and didn't try and negoatiate really as what I set out for before the call.
Anyone think that is good or would you have pushed it a bit more?
..........That indeed was a good deal, you must be a big spend customer to get that deal, and a long contract, in which case you've actually, "paid" for the deal anyway.
It seems Orange are prepaired to have a shake out of their customer base and only offer unbeatable deals to high spend customers, back to the old days when only new customers as a whole were offered easy and uniformly available good deals.
I find it interesting but I don't see an Orange "Unlimited Internet" tarrif option anywhere? .....500mb is hardly "Unlimited" if it is What is 1gb?...UNLIMITED plus 500mb????...Thats a bit like Infinite +10 -
i thought 18 month contracts were pretty standard these days!0

Yea it is! You got a great deal! Although there are some flexible 30 day contracts about, they dont have the free phones like your BB, although I can understand why people may not want to be tied in for 18 months, however if you're going to be paying monthly anyway, I think its worth being tied in for a good deal, especially as I already have free broadband as I'm on an 18 month contract:p
Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but any 'unlimited' bundles are never really infinate, they all have a fair usage. For example, Orange's unlimited texts are subject to a fair usage of 3,000 a month, whilst for the T mobile 'Solo' plans for 30 days, the free internet is ubject to a 1GB usage, so it doesnt tend to be infinite...it seems orange are just offering a bundle at the moment
Also I see that there is no 800mb plan on the orange site, but I can only tell you what I got told on the phone. If its any different then I'll amend my contract post, could be that she meant 500 or I misheard0 -
Can anyone help? I have a contract with Orange and it has two phones on it. They are both due too run out in about 14 weeks. I'm only looking at keeping the one as the wife has already got her new phone.
I would really like a internet phone to use skype. Has anyone got any idears what I would be able to get or is it still too early?:oCurrent Debt £38,000:o

Turns out i misheard the lady and it is only 80Mb! Not that Im bothered as it has wi-fi anyway:) Also just a bit of a warning, when you phone to comfirm your upgrade/register new phone, make sure they get your contract right as he tried to say it was 100mins, unlim texts with no bundle first before I corrected him!0 -

Seems you have been offered a Very POOR deal then:o Don't even see a mention of 80MB are you sure thats not a free trial of some sort???
WiFi is pretty much useless as a mobile internet, and it will still cost you extra.0 -

lol:rotfl: . How is a FREE touchscreen nokia, Unlimited texts, 200 mins (plenty for me as the people i phone i have unlimited calls to through magic numbers), a data bundle that ISNT a free trial (Just because its not on the site doesnt mean it doesnt exist!!) all for just under a tenner a month a "Very POOR deal"?!?! Especially when I'm a student trying to save money, I cant see any fault.
WiFi is useless??!! Wifi doesnt cost me a penny, connecting free to the internet through someone elses internet service. Now the only times id use internet on phone really are at uni (wifi) home (wifi) town (many wifi networks) and the occasional other time ill search as part of my 80Mb bundle.0 -

If you are basing the worthiness of the deal on the upgrade offered of your phone then fair enough.
BUT some Orange customers have had touch screen wifi PDA type phones for several years now, and there really has been no better phone than the spv m700 for 2 years now.
Thats why Retentions should be concentrating on the plans being offered and not the Phone upgrades to keep business customers like myself.
I think the SPV M700 is the END POINT in phones, its user upgradeable as its a Windows Mobile Phone, so applications are free available and always being developed.
A few months use of your phone and you will discover the need for unlimited data and that wifi is extremely limited.0
