We've already been through the OP's required search area much earlier in the thread.  There are school considerations as well as extended family pressures in addition to commutes to work.  

A 10 mile radius is more than enough when you have to factor in these things.  Who wants to be commuting 30 miles to work if they can help it?  Most people don't want more than a 30 minute bus ride. 

Plus fuel alone would make that "cheaper rent" more expensive.

Looks like you need to move somewhere with more housing choice in that case, the article is just the usual -  The "crisis" has been going on for "years" but we need to declare an "emergency" immediately! The people shouting about the "emergency" will be up to their necks in BTL and holiday lets no doubt? The London bubble going pop will solve Cornwall`s housing problems very quickly IMO.

Yes, but the kitchen is big enough to also be used as a dining room, thus the dining room would be used as a bedroom.
