Yesterday I cut out the 5 foot long root (and the extra 2 feet coming off the end at a right angle). Multiple saw cuts plus putting pressure on it with the spade and the crowbar. Stump is still in place but much diminished (multiple roots cut back/ hacked off) - it doesn't interfere with the three metres of space I am working with.
Today I've taken most of my potted up seedlings outside, watered them and everything already planted up, done some more flattening and started to put the first containers in place along the fence. More soil and stone sifting. Bits of tidying up inside, rubbish and recycling, pots and cutlery taken away and washed, boxes cut up and paper sacks in blue bin.
Mum decided she wanted takeaway again (it's her money and anything she's interested in eating is fine by me). Will adjust my budget by making more tinned beans and veg dishes.
Grateful for getting the worst root out, adjusted plans seem to be working well, some tidying (much more needed but if I can get the rest of the tomato plants outside tomorrow that will help (plus have 3 items to take back to my house). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -

Went for a walk with hubby after breakfast, did some sewing, then in the afternoon I cut & prepped most of our rhubarb. Planning to make cordial & wine at some point.
Grateful for the enjoyment I felt cutting up the rhubarb, finishing my book, finishing no 1 son's jumperUse it up, wear it out

Morning to all
Been a hectic and spendy couple of days. Took DD2 to her uni house but had a long journey - did a detour to collect a shopping order; then an idiot driver on M62 joining from a slip road decided to speed across all lanes into the fast lane and nearly hit me; then got stuck in traffic jam due to an accident (not due to aforementioned idiot) - saw a car stuck across the crash barrier of the central reservation - car was intact so hopefully everyone was ok. Was very glad to arrive in one piece and on time for DD2 to get to job interview - she got the job yay! Just a summer job at a cafe but she was pleased and she will stay at her uni house for the summer. We had a lovely day after that - bought a skirt for work in a charity shop, had lunch from a market stall, sat outside & enjoyed the sunshine. Walked 15000 steps and was such a nice treat after isolation.
Yesterday took DD2 for her vaccine; had hair cut; dropped DD2 at mid point as she has gone to see boyfriend. Then decided to visit poorly DD1 and get her outside for a walk. Also went to big Swedish emporium but couldn't find the 2 items i wanted for DD's birthday. Bought other stuff on my list. Returned a coat to big hill warehouse and bought a fleece for DD1 to give her father for special day next week, bought myself a fleece and small rucksack to take on walks - the return was more than my purchases so i felt like i got some freebies?!
Gratitudes - DD2 got her second vaccine; DD1 getting back very slightly her sense of taste and smell ; football later today .....

Oof! - Scorchio weather today! 🌞🌡 Not that I'm complaining 😀
Spent in 2 smkts today and g0 0utd00rs -needed new walking shoes for me - a true need as mine have come apart and glue has not solved the issue! 😂 Still - we think they were about 10 years old, so I've had my money's worth
Like (I suspect) a lot of the UK population, we are having a post football bbq today - rolls have been baked and flatbreads are proving ready 😋 Garden is tidy - all lawns mowed yesterday and I also sanded/ oiled the smaller table for the food to go on. Sunflowers are blooming 🌻🌻 and washing is baking dry on the line!
Thankful for glorious sunshine 🌞, ice cream in the freezer for later 🍦😋, comfy new walking shoes (although too hot to wear anything other than flip flops 🩴 right now!) , for the little bright yellow duckling 🐤 on the canal surviving long enough to become a big pale coloured duckling (they usually get swiped by predators very quickly when that colour), for living where we doI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -

Lazy morning with coffee and politicsMade a plum and apple sponge pudding (for later on), and some blueberry buns (in the freezer), made a pizza dough and used up some more bits and bobs from the fridge as toppings. Whole house hoovered, all the laundry on the line, all bathrooms cleaned, seedlings watered. Going to try and get one frog off the list every day this week.Gratitudes: cooler night for sleeping, football every day (sorry!) for the rest of the month, having a timetable to get jobs done before the football starts at 2pm,4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Walked a different way with hubby this morning. Think he'd got it into his head that it was further than his regular route, is by 0.3 miles, so he might be more willing to go that way another time now.
He showed me how to use the chop saw, then I chopped up all our firewood for winter. Started moving it from the garage to the wood store in the wheelbarrow. Only managed two loads before the heavens opened.
Put a new zip in a coat instead, nodded off for half an hour.
Grateful for getting the wood cut up, a different walk, cosy jumpersUse it up, wear it out

This week in Madrid has been around 30/35 degrees with thunder storms. Sticky but not reeeeally reeaallly uncomfortable yet. Although I do spend all day in a lovely cool office, unlike my poor bf who has to teach from home with no air con! Hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine over there this weekend xxStudent loan £5655
