Obviously too early to ask at the checkout @Rosa_Damascena but it might indicate that Aldi, aware of the reputation of their fruit and veg, are taking soundings. 🤔

I haven't had any problems lately. I shop weekly and everything lasts long enough. In fact, since I bought a new fridge recently, things like broccoli last longer than previously.

Another positive is that there have been a lot more 30 and 50 % off items lately. I've picked up both fruit and veg and also lots of fish and meat for the freezer. 👍

Bought Cherry Tomatoes at Aldi - when I opened most were mouldy - won't do that again tather pay a bit more and be able to keep for 7 days without deterioration.  Opened day of purchase.  But not obvious looking through plastic when buying.

(Should have listened t posts that said veg wasn't prticularly long lived)
I bought fruit and veg from Aldi yesterday evening as nothing at the local greengrocer looked good. Strangely enough, the cc reader asked me to rate the quality of the produce before it sought payment. How am I supposed to know before I have cut into it? :no_mouth:
It's just a slightly broken survey. Aren't they all? ... but I got that "rate the quality of our fresh stuff" question the other day.
Don't ask me, I had my middle-aisle blinkers on, and didn't even SEE any fresh stuff, let alone BUY it!

It gets me when bread for example says best before.  Lets say yesterday with ..best before 27 Feb, surely that means up to 26 Feb ie day before, so on 27th its past its best and should be reduced in price or am I being thick?

It's best before end date, though they don't seem to put the word end in anymore, so can see why it is confusing.  So it is best before the end of 27 Feb in your example.
Is it though?  If an item states that it’s best before 27 February, the only possible interpretation of that is that it’s not at its best on 27 February.
Thats what I thought.  For example if rules of a competition say you have to enter before 27 Feb then the last day you can enter is 26th.  If you try on 27th you are too late.

I always give the lowest negative response to these checkout surveys, given how quick Aldi want you through their tills, compulsory surveys before you can pay are a blinking cheek.

You were right - it’s the only possible interpretation, both grammatically and legally. Not that the BB date has any legal relevance. I’ve had one or two dealings with the Tesco CS people on the point, and that’s the way they view it too.

There seems to be a problem with chocolate @Katiehound. It's not just the rising prices but they haven't had DH's favourite 70% cocoa in Aldi for some weeks.

There's plenty in Lidl, which we've bought as a substitute, but it doesn't come in the convenient 5 separate 25g bars.

Annoyed as I went and did a big shop at Lidl and discovered too late that my 10% off had expired.  Oh well - we've got lots of toilet paper now.
