Morning everyone. Somehow already over half way into our budget here, but it was DHs birthday so we had some steaks from the butcher at the weekend. I also restocked the freezer with some meat so i imagine that swallowed a large chunk of Junes budget. Also DH is at home this week so will no doubt want chicken and other 'fancy' items for his lunch instead of bog standard cheese sandwiches!
I decided id bake some bread yesterday, using the warm weather to my advantage for adequate proving but it didnt work. It was very dense after being cooked so not sure if if over worked it, if the water was too warm when i added it and activated the yeast too early/too quickly or if simply i didnt bake it for long enough. Any ideas anyone before i try again tonight?

Aldi £14.41 / Iceland £5.60. Had to pop into Iceland to get some more 'Funny Feet'. They are back from the 80's but only available in Iceland. They are smaller than I remember ... or perhaps I need to shrink- Grocery Challenge: April £263.60 / £250

Welcome new and old!
I've put my budget in now - at £260 it seems high but I've been terrible the last few months and my shopping has been all over the place, so I've run out of some things totally and have loads of others - need to try and sort it out! Currently have £95.31 left - I know I know, my only defense is that I did buy a lot of stocking up things, just not the sensible ones I actually need (I'm looking at you chickpeas!), rather things like vegan ice creams and snack bar things. Still, I need such essentials as tins of beans, oats, vegan butter, maple syrup, and so on. I have a full. fridge right now so will be trying not to buy much if anything for a few days.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old Style, Crafting and Techie Stuff boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
