Hi @elsiepac can you please put me down for £200 for the month please. I am intending to use this money also for toiletries and cleaning stuff. At a push I could put the dog food down as not too expensive at £20 and I am also due a free loyalty 15kg bag this month too.
Thank you

Just here to report a couple of NSD's for Monday and yesterday. Had to admit defeat today, as we were out of spread for toast and sandwiches etc. Went to our T3sco local, which was not the best option... they only had one non-dairy spread, thankfully it was on offer, so 90p spent. £27.40p left for the weekDebt Free Journey started 21.05.20176

Can I be put down for £561 please?
£16.50pd for 34 days
We don't have a lot of meat in so will probably need to do a meat order, or try and achieve YS success fairly early in the month. I do have plenty of buling ingredients like beans, chickpeas etc. and my mum should complete on her house next week (fingers crossed) which means i can cook up some big batches of curry. tagines, etc as well as plan in more veggie dishes.
Stepkids are on half term from tomorrow but going to my In-Laws for the week so actually a saving there against a normal month. Hopefully manage a few BBQs in this gorgeous weather and up the salad intake too, hoping to keep things fairly simple and basic as work on our extension continues apace.
It's also my daughter's birthday this month and we are planning a party but I shall put all food costs etc against a seperate budget. Planning to go a little fancy on the cakes, but the party itself is simply in the garden with a picnic, followed by a BBQ in the evening for family. Will put all the food costs against the party line so may benefit from leftovers also.
So nice to have something to look forward to and to get some proper socialising at home.

This is for 2 adults a 17 year old, a 9 year old, 2 dogs and a cat plus all toiletries and cleaning supplies.
This is my budget amount but always manage to go over each month so want to try and stick to it this month (although we are camping so will be a tougher one to do)
When I started here (years ago - I found a bread recipe I added in 2012!) - my spending was higher than yours and our debt position at its worst was £100k plus mortgage so I can vouch for this working. When I started, I read all the links in the first post or two and all the advice from the legendary people on here such as Spiggle (Spigs). Good luck and do keep postingSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Hi all, could you put me down for a budget of £350, our average monthly spend over the last 5 months has been £260 so hopefully it'll come closer to that.
That's food/drink for 2 adults and 3 children aged 12, 10 & 5, all toiletries & cleaning. I'm getting my 3 monthly bulk toilet rolls this month so that's £36 of the budget.
We utilise the local community grocery, ol!o and mostly Ald! in order to keep it that low.

How is the selling items going?
Ive got suitcases and boxes of clothes, sadly many with tags still on, I need to sort, organise and shift. What sites are you getting most sales on?
Have had a few ebay sales go sour with sellers damaging items to get a refund based on it being faulty. They get a refund and i pay the return postage to get back an item that wasnt damaged, but now is! Some people have no shame

I'm "off" into our June budget with a spend of about £90 between the market this morning & the supermarket this afternoon, which has bought us most of the fresh stuff we'll need for the week. I need to sit down & work out the exact pounds shillings & pence, but haven't had a chance yet; it was £55-ish at the market & £35-ish at the supermarket. I'll also need to do a run to L!dls early next week but will aim to keep that under £50, for loo roll, washing liquid (can't get DD1 to accept my eco-washball, though the rest of us love it) orange juice, coffee & butter. Also Marmite, if they have any; I haven't seen any anywhere for weeks now. We always used to have 2 or 3 in the store cupboard but they've gone now. I think I've run into most of the supermarkets in Dorset hunting for it, but no-one's had any for weeks on the days that I've been in...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)8
