Wasn't going to order or shop for a few days, except everything seemed to run out at once. I also wasn't going to order a home delivery from Tesco again as I'd planned to shop-around. I need to confess; shopping around really isn't going to happen, at least not at the moment. I'm not sure if I've weakened or if I'm being sensible; but I ordered a Tesco delivery - total cost £160.80. I was a bit taken aback when I totted up the non-food products, they came to £37.80! Being; disinfectant, absorbent dish cloths, Wooden floor cleaner, tissues, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, oxy-powder, T-Cut, washing up liquid, washing capsules, and a new bamboo chopping board cos the old one had gone manky.
On the food front, a bottle of my fav olive oil (@ £7.85) was replenished, that'll last us a couple of months. The only fruit on the list was 5 bananas and 2 punnets of strawberries, plus a bit of salad and a couple 2.5kg bags of potatoes.
Fruit and veg is one area where I'll stick to my guns, I'm fed up with supermarket fruit and veg, market produce seems so much fresher. Talking about fresh fruit, I bought quite a bit of fruit from Aldi last week, it all looked lovely and fresh except most of it wasn't totally ripe, and leaving it a couple of days didn't help as a lot of it started to dry out before it ripened.
On Friday we're planning to visit the market in Daventry, I've not been there before, so I hope that works out fine. The other place I hope to visit is a lovely butcher in Braunston, I have been there before, their homemade sausages are legendary.
My target is now £100 for the rest of the month..... doable I think!7 -
@pamsdish - it's the little things that catch you unawares that hurt isn't it, sorry you were caught on the raw again and virtual hugs from this direction ((((hugs)))).
Spent a lovely warm afternoon out and about with friends and then had to dive into M*rks when it came on to rain suddenly, spent £11.03 on lots of salad bits and bread so my total is now £15.63/£120 and daily average spend is running at an eyewatering £7.81.
I think it had better be use-it-up vegetable soup day tomorrow.7 -
Good morning everyone
Just popping in to log another £7.70p spend last night, as I absolutely had to go and buy some salad bits, this weather is amazing and I needed refreshing food. Also bought some of @ldi vegan ice creams and they were amazing!
£22.71p left in the grocery account, next week's budget transfers in tomorrow, so we are just peachy!
Have a great day all

Morning all, been MIA the last few months due to a few family members being in and out of hospital and completely lost my mojo with all the stress and running around. I'd like to start afresh for June and going with a budget of £250. I've updated the freezer, cupboard and fridge lists and am about to write my meal plan for next week. Have a good day!

Reporting in currently at £117.27 as I grabbed a few essentials from Ald1 yesterday, mostly for my little girl (fruit, veggies that are easy for snacks, milk etc) and grabbed some YS rhubarb. Strewed some last night in the hope of adding it to yoghurt for my daughter as seems to go a little way for not a lot! That said... I’m reluctant to add sugar to it a a it’s otherwise going to be a bit tart so looking forward to seeing her funny face 😁
Anyway, fresh pizzas this weekend so a few bits purchased for that (specific veggies) but I know I’ll be back there again come Sunday as I’ll have ran out of milk!Hope you’re all having a good week?Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

Hi all, have spent a fair bit so far given that it's only the 3rd although almost half of the spend is on bulk toilet rolls. Spent £78.38/£350. Will have to get some bits to last over the weekend today.Grocery Challenge 2024

Hi, just a couple of tiny spends do far:
£6.98 - Spar, £6.28 Co-op, £15.60 - Co-op.
£28.86/£561.
Expecting to come in quite a bit under after all this month.
My mum is still with us and still doing the main shop each week as the ongoing saga of 'when will she complete' on her house purchase rumbles on. Hoping for an update today before I start thinking aboutr next week's meal plan/shopping list.
OH, DD & I at the in-laws this weekend so shouldn't need any treats to get us through the weekend. DD and I also have stinking colds so not eating loads. I do need to do a musclefood order today, only meat we have in is vast quantities of beef mince (which my mum doesn't eat).

Dang that means i'm over budget already... ... Gosh it's only the 3rd! crikey .... Do i try and slim my Morrisons order down or do i suck it up and accept im way over this month- May 2021 Grocery Challenge : £198.72 spent / £300 Budget
