You would be charged the 5p connection fee on every call which is chargeable. This wouldn't apply if you used 18866 or 1899 as their access numbers are freephone.

I want to sign up to 1899 and drop to the £10.50p/m line rental, so at least I won't get charged the 5p connection fee otherwise it would not be worth it for me.

All very interesting but I think this is off topic and should be another thread in this forum?

This thread was discussing what discounts people had managed to secure from NTL customer retentions? I was interested to know if people had phoned retentions again after securing a discount, and what level of discount/deal people had secured with Family Pack, Broadband 1MB and phone line (currently paying £39.99).

    Many thanks

Hi, Was wondering if anyone could advise me please.
All I have with NTL is the £17.99 broadband. I have had this for nearly 3 years however I moved house last year and got my broadband changed over to new address. I have now been told that when I moved home I became a 'new customer' therefore I cannot take out any new packages. My phone is with BT and I have a freeview set top box but I was looking for a NTL 'package' with tele, phone and internet all in one. Which number shall I phone to discuss this with NTL and what are my best options? Thankyou.

There are numerous BB suppliers now charging less than £17.99/month.

I'd suggest a phone call to say you were considering their 3 for £30 package but, having been turned down , you're now just going to go elsewhere for cheaper BB (because you've already got Freeview anyway).

By other accounts (pardon the pun) on here, they'll immediately offer you the £30 package (at least) - but if you don't try, you'll never know.

    I think the number is 0800 052 0243.
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").
  • Wise words April2.
NTL are now doing 1MB BB for £9.99. If angela2095 is happy with her set up, push for a reduction in the BB only.
If you want the whole package, then go for the 3 for £30 package. NTL should go for this as they will be making an extra £12ish out of you.

    good luck.
...and then the window licker said to me...

Hi again, Thanks for the replys. Well, I phoned them and in 2 weeks I will be getting the 3 for £30 upgraded to family pack TV AND free sports channels for a year all for £39.50p. Thanks again, Angela.

Arriving late to this long thread....Can someone tell me what I should ask for as I have always felt the price should be lower
Currently I pay £10.99 line rental and total bill comes to slightly more than £20 a mont (which annoys me cos I think it should be less!...tight eh) and also £17.99 for Broadband 1mb...

What do you think I could save perlease folks?

    Cheers!

Just ring them and tell them you're thinking of switching, and see what they say!
