Don't people realise they don't have to use the pump on the same side of their car's fuel cap?

Be careful stretching the hose to the other side, I had a nozzle jump out and dent my car once :'( (hoses must have been tangled up)

When she got out, it obviously dawned on her that the fuel cap was on the wrong side for the pump and she didn’t want to stretch the hose across her lovely Mini Cooper.

No need to move the car when there’s an easy solution! 😁

OP your opening a whole can or worms here

Why do women drivers fill the car up then rummage in car for handbag then when at till franticly search bag for purse/card sometimes after buying a basket of shopping in the petrol forecourt shop

Why do people when checking tyres spend ages taking each dust cap off checking tyre replacing dust cap and so on.......take all 4 dust caps off insert coin check all 4 tyres then replace dust caps

You pay to blow up your tyres ? Sainsburys near us its free for air and water and have two dispensers at either end of the filling station

I just fire up the compressor in my garage, unroll the air line, and plug the inflator in...

What’s all this pumps, hoses and nozzles? Sounds a right parlarva can’t see it catching on. Just plug-in takes 5 seconds unplug and off you go. Full tank every day.
Definitely what I miss the most about having an EV, being able to ignore petrol stations.
Counting the days until I get back in one.

I wonder how many drivers know that on modern cars there is a tiny arrow under the fuel gauge indicating the side that the filler cap is on.
    Urban myth.
We've had cars before that have disproven this.
Here's a link to an article stating the manufacturers that do and don't have the wee arrows.
It's an older articles, but having a new car seems like a no-no on here anyway so I guess it's alright. :-)

I'll pull the hose over the car, but I have an old banger and the paint's already wrecked from tree sap. I can see why someone with a pristine car wouldn't want too.

I tried that. It turns out that you need to plug in every two hours on a long trip, and that you then waste an awful long time if you aren’t at an extremely fast charger.

It’s probably ‘genius’,...until some boy-racer swings into the forecourt at high speed and doesn’t see the fuel hose until it’s too late.😁 😲😱
