Good luck for your future OP.  I had a very unhealthy long-term relationship, that although I was relieved to be out of, took years to recover from.

He could be very generous and charming, but when things as they often do in life didn't go to plan, not so.

You've made a very courageous step, and now you get to start again.

Dear Madwomanintraining, I hope you are doing well. Live may not be easy at the moment, but under no circumstance is that a reason to go back to him! Stay strong! There are ALWAYS other solutions! Have you contacted the local shelter?

Although I’m sure people are keen to offer support and check that she is ok, they should also respect her decision if she doesn’t want to come back to this thread for whatever reason.
