All electric, ASHP 4/5 Bed, 2 adults working from home full time. This include using the tumble dryer 5 times a week, 6 washing loads, dishwasher on every night, cooking every day(but as cheaply as possible) and the hot water. No heat on at all. We have also been in strangely all week this week. We pay 51.61p per day SC and 29.24p kWh on our fix deal.Spoonie_Turtle said:
Thankfully the recent high usage threads have given me a few leads already, and the calculations of even small but constant power draws (e.g. the plug-in air fresheners - we don't have them but seeing that kind of small amount added up is eye-opening!) has inspired me to check everything we possibly can. There are four applicances we won't be able to use the energy monitor - either hardwired in, or plugs completely inaccessible - but it'll be a simpler exercise than experimenting with the heat pump will be.k_man said:Yes, 20kWh is quite high (FYI my overestimated Tracker is £3.55)
Time for some digging for you.
Maybe time for a why is my usage so high thread
£3.55 sounds almost like fantasy! I recently house-sat for someone whose IHD was on the monetary usage screen and if I hadn't seen for myself such low numbers in comparison with our own bills, I'm not sure I'd have believed it. Being all-electric does factor in, but right now it should only be the hot water that differs and yeah, wow.
Be interesting what you are running.

Sorry, what is a jumped meter, or the latter two?SAC2334 said:
As a meter reader for 20 years I can say that all the "jumped meters " will quadruple this year and so will the subbed and reversed gas meters .milo_2020 said:
I wonder who will be footing the bill with all the jumped meters?
Also, does the tracker have a SC?0 -
Tracker does have a standing charge; it matches ours from the SVT so I assume that's the case for all the regions a well.Planeteer said:Also, does the tracker have a SC?1 -
I'm only an occasional observer of the tracker rates - but this mornings electricity rate was a real eye opener.
In area G (Northwest) 70.56p per KWH.
Looking back from 13 August to 22 August, Gas has been relatively steady (high 14p to low 15p per KWH), yet electricity unit rates have gone up from 46.75p to 59.04p to 48.15p and today to 70.56p.
Perhaps those here more knowledgeable can advise - why would gas rate be more or less steady, while electricity rate fluctuates ?0 -

Also the ability to import electricity from continent.Yesterday's generation below - blue is wind, yellow is solar. After 6PM there was very little of either, so gas increases as a percentage of overal generation and the price rose accordingly.

I think that today is the first time that both July 2022 v1 caps have been hit?
Actual electricity unit rate, for me, would be 76.21p/kWh.1 -
Can I check - is the cap still 55p elec and 16 gas as the mention of 70.56p above confused me!0

Isnt April 2022 to July 22 a few months?Dolor said:
Actually, they didn’t. They went from version 3 to July 22 v1. The implication being that they were worried about rising prices and they thought that may have needed to release a July 22 v2 tariff.Chrysalis said:
Thanks, thats interesting, so they went from v1 to v2 to v3 and now a new v1 all in the space of a few months.bristolleedsfan said:
V1 available until April 2022
Then a few months v2 came and expired, v3 came and expired..
Are you saying bristolleedsfan reply was wrong?
So V1 was available as recently as April 2022. V1 -> V2 -> V3 -> July 22 V1 in a 3 month period.
Since people misinterpret so easily on here, by expired I mean availability to sign up to it.1
