Thanks I will do that. At first sight it would seem that there is not a huge difference - on the surface.Telegraph Sam

Do you get a confirmation email when you renew Tracker. I have renewed this morning, I am not a big user so if it does not work out
it will not cost me much. I had lost the renewal link so I did it a different way and it said that it would start today. I phoned them and they have changed it to next week when my current version ends. I have had no email conformation though.0 -

Thanks I have not got one. We I go to my account it says 8 days and underneath it says remaining in contract, but I do not know if it said anything different before. I have emailed them to check.QrizB said:millie said:Do you get a confirmation email when you renew Tracker.Yes, I did.And I can see it in my email history in my account on Octopus's website, subject "FYI: Changes to your tariff".Check your account if you can't find the email in your inbox.1 -
I mentioned previously that I am in (mild) dispute with Octopus re my account which has fallen victim to "re-billing" or "back-billing". Coincidence or not but "re-billing" seems to be getting quite a lot of publicity in the news just recently.Telegraph Sam

My tracker tariff for gas ends in 6 days or so, considering what to do really. My electricity is on Agile (and this will probably be moved to Cosy). With only another month ish of using heating in earnest, I’m wondering whether I just pick whatever gives me the lowest standing charge. Would prefer to stay with Octopus 🐙 as I’m not interested in moving the electric0

A fix with no exit fees maybe and then your options are open for when something pops up as there was some talk in the news of reduce SC coming in so it might be worth a scout around if that suits your usage profile.Archerychick said:My tracker tariff for gas ends in 6 days or so, considering what to do really. Tracker may well be below any fix for heating your hot water by gas in the spring and Autumn when you tend not to use gas for heating so it's good to keep options open imo.1 -
In the past I have done a comparison based on typical low summer usage rather than 12 month average consumption. Lower standing charges sometimes don't win out if the unit rate is higher. This is assuming you can switch again towards the end of summer to make the best of your higher usage in the winter months. Of course it is a bit of a gamble as locking in a lower rate now to take into next winter could end up paying dividends if the upward price trend continues through this year.Archerychick said:With only another month ish of using heating in earnest, I’m wondering whether I just pick whatever gives me the lowest standing charge.
