Which is or are the fixed gas offers that folk are using to compare with Tracker gas??
The Octopus fix (5.74p/kWh + 29.43p/day) was the best I could find. Not shown as an option on the MSE Cheap Energy Club site.

    Edit: East Midlands

@masonic  That's the gut feeling that I'm getting from following this thread. Though there would be no saving in SC between the two. I have yet to receive the renewal invite email.

@Doc_N That (the Octopus fix) is what is offered automatically when the renewal invite is sent??

Probably, but it's not the way I did it because mine doesn't expire until the end of March. I generated a quote from the app and that's what it came up with. Choice of taking it immediately or at the end of the existing contract. Rightly or wrongly, my crystal ball told me to take it with immediate effect. There are no right or wrong answers though, are there? Just lucky or unlucky guesses!

You got your quote via All our Tariffs I assume from providing your post code

What am I to make of Agile being classified as a "gas offset" tariff??  I had come to the conclusion that gas and electric were quite separate of each other, now ...

I got it that way initially because the website didn't offer a switching price link. The iPad app did, though, and it generated the same quote from within the app without, of course, the need for the postcode.

I contacted them via Xtwit this week and asked to be put on 12 fix starting when the tracker 8/1, and that’s where I am next 5.74 / 29plus bits sc.

The latest proposed price hike to 70p / day (in the NE) is painful and ratchets up SC's in relative importance in the scheme of things. Did you find any significan variation in SC's within the providers that you researched?

Given all of the tariff switch discussions lately, Octopus' Fixes - December 2024 v1 replaced with January 2025 v1:
    For my energy region...
    E - 24.95p/kWh to 25.52p/kWh  (Higher than Q1 SVT)
    G - 5.86p/kWh to 6.12p/kWh  (Lower than Q1 SVT)

December bill last year averaged 4.5p  :'(

Today's price is the highest all year if I'm reading gastracker correctly.

6.11 is my new fixed price offering but I'm not switching just yet.
