Octopus Tracker

Are those of you fixing gas remaining on the current tracker for electricity until it expires and then renewing the tracker at that point? The 12M fix is cheaper on both gas and elec today so am wondering if fixing both is better? I'm assuming gas wholesale prices affect elec prices.I'm also getting the "Something went wrong. Please try again later.” error when trying to switch so have emailed them since I don't have twitter.

Are those that are fixing their gas able to apply it immediately or once your tracker finishes? Mine comes to an end towards the end of Feb so keeping an eye on wholesale prices and hoping rates don't suddenly shoot up0

raving the current fix price i think will be pulled they change very often, ask octopus if they will honour the price when your current deal ends1

I don't think my usage suits agile as I'll likely be using more elec around that time. Going to phone them to see if I can fix the gas and still renew the Tracker on electricity only next month.

I know I'm not allowed gas tracker again for nine months, but that takes me to the beginning of October, so gives me a choice going into next winter.2 -

I've gone for the fix starting today. There's no exit fee so if a cheaper fix comes along I could bail from it and re-fix. Our tracker didn't end for another 6 weeks, but that's a lot of gas to be used between now and then, and with the uncertainty with the Russian gas situation, that was the trigger for us.

We are on tracker for gas & I was considering a fix until I've just reviewed our usage data. Over the last 12 months we've used 5175KWH, which isn't really that much, we've paid £328.82 (£95 standing charge and £212 in unit costs). That works out to be 4p for usage, so fixing for 6p per unit doesn't seem to make much sense.
Think I'll hang tight for the moment & see what happens through January.0
