I'm on the Octopus Tracker December 2023 v1 tariff, and gotten an email telling me to either renew on the latest version of tracker, or roll over to Octopus Flexible.
I can't find details of the "latest version of tracker". Anyone know where I can find this information?0 -

Messaged Octopus on Twitter yesterday to fix my gas. They started responding and asked for verification etc and then stopped. Today a more expensive fix has launched. Tried contacting to them today and no response. Nice one octopus, losing your shine!0

Maybe don't risk leaving it to the last minute?bagand96 said:Messaged Octopus on Twitter yesterday to fix my gas. They started responding and asked for verification etc and then stopped. It might seem bad but you're looking at an extra £25 over a 10k kWh usage between Dec fix and Jan fix. Not worth beating yourself up over

Well I phoned them today and they honoured yesterday's price so I've fixed gas for 12M. Fortunately I had made a note of yesterday's price when asked and think they found the email I sent.jaxkesa said:It seems most fixes have gone up today, not just Octopus. I've made a futile attempt to ask them to honour yesterday's price since their site kept erroring yesterday when I tried to switch and they had told me to just try again later.

That's my point. If I am on Tracker then what is shown for one day can be quite different from the following day. I make rough and ready reactions to what is reported for either day but really not very sophisticated let alone do an Agile by reacting to half hourly fluctuations. Barring extremes the day's price is a bit academic IMO. The general level or trend is more significant.debitcardmayhem said:
So why bother? If you were on agile you can use that to adjust your load, on tracker you have a fixed rate for the whole day, or fix but you have missed the boat on that one.Telegraph_Sam said:I'm not sure if much can be read into day to day unit price movements in ToU tariffs?Telegraph Sam

People say that Twitter is quicker than email but I emailed yesterday to change my tariff and had confirmation back by email exactly 30 minutes later. I then asked by reply to change to paying by variable DD and had confirmation of that back overnight. Congrats to Octopus, great service all roundbagand96 said:Messaged Octopus on Twitter yesterday to fix my gas. They started responding and asked for verification etc and then stopped. Can someone confirm if there is truth in the statement that if one waits till after the renewal notice has been issued, that this counts as the tariff having run its course, and that in these circs the 9 month wait rule for rejoining Tracker does NOT apply. Or is this a fig of my imagination?
For the present my thoughts are to stick with Dec 2023 v.1 till it ends (for me) mid Feb by which time the situation will most likely be different (for better or for worse) from today.Telegraph Sam

So if I lock the gas on a 12m fix (6.32 a unit and 29.8 SC 🧐) I can keep the electric on tracker or move to another tariff or company? (Tomato energy is ridiculously cheaper currently)0
