As I have only been on tracker since mid June, I'll stick with it until the end of the month at least.
if prices continue on the current trend I'm going to have to consider switching back to the standard cap tariff for electricity, or try agile.
but if I do that then I'll lose the 40p cap on tracker, but then agile is capped at 35p for now...
urgh, it's so difficult to know what to do, everything seems a gamble with pros and cons to each, I gambled on switching to tracker but it hasn't worked out so far.

Let's hope those prices come down next week, although I can't see it based on the last 2 weeks!

(I've not looked into Agile, as I don't (yet) have a smart meter)
Agile Smart Meter Tariff  21p per day SC, maximum 35p kWh fixed for 12 months,

Tip was this is potentially better electricity tariff option for those on Tracker v3 or on SVR particularly as switch to Agile can be delayed for up to 28 days.

Very modest fall in today's DA electricity price; for me, tomorrow's unit rate is 29.7p/kWh.

Highest DA price this month so far, meaning highest unit rate (so far) tomorrow - 35.95p/kWh for me.

Agile looking cheaper currently with its lower SC!

Average Agile price for June, for me, was 32.2p/kWh, whereas Tracker's average daily unit rate was 28.26p/kWh.
So far in July, it's 34.7p/kWh and 31.01p/kWh respectively.
    I'm on Tracker v2, which has a SC of 22.17p compared to Agile's 21p.

Ah, that makes a difference then.

Still, for current tracker they're pretty closely matched I feel, and to have the 'benefit' from a 35p cap come October is appealing.

Agile tends to have cheaper periods than daily tracker rate which is the main purpose for Agile tariff, shifting usage to cheaper greener hours, when Wholesale rates are very high benefits of load shifting on variable time of use tariff are not so apparent.

A lack of those 'cheaper periods' right now!

    Indeed.
As you say, however, with the way things are with wholesale prices at the moment... Agile often seems to be at or near the Agile cap, for the data I can see for my energy region, so the averages give a pretty reasonable comparison, I feel (with the relative absence of the usual load-shifting benefits from Agile at the moment).
I'll be keeping a close eye on Agile, as well as Tracker, though.
