Octopus Tracker

I’ve just had my renewal email and haven’t got a smart meter. There’s nothing to say what rates we transfer onto if we stick with tracker. I read somewhere that you go onto a different waiting list until new meters are installed so you don’t need to go on the six month list and should get tracker back as soon as you have smart meters.
You've been on Octopus Tracker for almost 12 months now.
If you'd like to stick with Tracker, please let us know by replying to this email.
If you do nothing, you'll roll onto Flexible Octopus, our always great value variable tariff, on 15th June 2023 at the end of your current fixed term.
Important: you now need smart meters to be on Octopus Tracker. If you don't have these already, register for smart meters here.
We've included a breakdown of prices and estimated costs per fuel for Flexible Octopus below.Flexible Octopus electricity prices
Unit rate: 32.36p / kWh
Standing charge: 53.96p / day
Estimated annual cost (electricity only): £xxxx
Good to know: This quote is based on the industry estimate for your home (xxxxkWh).Flexible Octopus gas prices
Unit rate: 10.24p / kWh
Standing charge: 27.47p / day
Estimated annual cost (gas only): £xxxx
Good to know: This quote is based on the industry estimate for your home (xxxxx kWh).
Love and power,
Pete
PS. Octopus Tracker has no exit fees, so you can switch penalty-free at any time.1 -

I think you are mistaken about v3 renewed on same terms.Chrysalis said:bristolleedsfan said:
v1, v2 fixed term dates ending after a certain date + v3 renewal emails no auto renewals to tracker tariff, do nothing default to flexible, needed to contact then to stay on tracker which should mean need a smart meter to go on current tracker version.Chrysalis said:bristolleedsfan said:
Worth noting Tracker v1 caps neither had any potential or actual benefit from EPG reduction as was below the threshold/floor.Chrysalis said:Xbigman said:Sorry its a bit hard to read.
DarrenBut I suppose this should also affect the trackers which for customers have been renewed on the same terms with new fixed dates. (which based on your response would mean Octopus loses EPG subsidy for those customers).
Agile and Tracker current versions are the only Octopus currently available tariffs standing charges did not increase on 1 April, Flux, Cosy, Go, Intelligent and Flexible all increased.
Did the newer trackers, get renewed though (v3 and newer) (the ones with EPG subsidy), I think you or someone else said they did.
v3 started approx 29 April 2022, earliest expiries have only very recently happened. We had that DM that was posted here on twitter which indicated Octopus changed how they were buying energy post EPG, but didnt clarify if this change was for all tracker type tariffs or just for the ones that had a EPG discount.Someone posted here a week or more ago that was at least one posted who renewed on v3 with same terms, I cant remember who it was though, and cant be bothered to track back in the topic.
Relevance of how Octo Chief stated they bought energy last summer is they lost lots money with customers being on tracker/agile compared with what they could have got had flexible been the only option - .EPG floor kWh rate for consumers + EPG discount they were guaranteed with flexible customers compared with tracker/agile that has been mostly below EPG level, lost loads more by continuing to offer tracker without smart meter requirement until middle February due to HDUK publicity + low day ahead prices.
I never said anyone was renewed on v3 with same terms, but someone on this thread said it happened some pages back, I may have misinterpreted the post maybe, but it doesnt really matter anyway as you have clarified things.

Tracker showing wrong gas rate yet again. 14 instead, I presume, 4.1

Think things have gone wrong with their data today. Saw the 14+ on that website, so thought I'd check my actual Octopus account... if only...

Are those estimated costs much different to what you are paying now?Griffindog said:I’ve just had my renewal email and haven’t got a smart meter. Still some way to go to reach the lowest gas price since I've been on Tracker (which was 1.61p/kWh !), but not complaining @ 4.36p/kWh.

I have been on the octopus tracker waitlist a few month. Just got an email to say I can now join.
is this a no-brainer and I should immediately sign up?I’m with shell energy and
electric is 31.92 standing charge 57.03
gas is 10.234 and standing charge 29.110 -
Yes, grab it now or someone else will .your rates are halved eg todays tracker gas 4.35 p kwh .electric 18.07 p kwh . You can always bail out if , say Putins mob take out the Helgeled gas pipe from Norway to Uk which will then really put the cat in with the pigeons of UK wholesale ratesdebz1404 said:I have been on the octopus tracker waitlist a few month.
