Annoyingly, I've been talking to them about Tracker for a while, but needed to wait for my fixed standard tariff on 1st April to end. Now I'm inside 45 days to that, I asked them to setup the tracker switch and they've said now I've got to join the queue on that form and maybe in 6 months I can swap.

I guess I'll go to agile until then.

Will those of us coming  up to renewal be affected? What tariffs might we be offered?
Not relevant to many but Octopus has withdrawn The Tesla Energy Plan for those who own Powerwall2 batteries. Presumably, all the new smart tariffs plus Flexible will be available on renewal.
I was hoping they might keep me on Gas Tracker V2. Has anyone been offered the chance to remain on their existing tracker  tariff recently?
Extending tariff for a further 12 months is and has always been do nothing option contained within tariffs options email.

I have not seen any instances of this happening Agile/Tracker since EPG started ( not that should make any difference, it is highly likely that they can still offer fixed rate/term tariffs that are not subject to EPG discount if they wanted to.)

Someone on a Facebook group stated has been on tracker tariff 2 years, his expiry is on Monday, I am hoping he posts an update after Monday somewhere I can see.

You didn't need to wait, you decided to wait.
I dumped my fix due to end in April a couple of weeks ago and moved to Tracker, just took 5 mins on the phone and the move completed 20 mins later.
It is always a bad sign when beta tariffs get picked up on 3rd party sites as it results in a lot of people who don't full understand what they are signing up for jumping in and it doesn't always end well as the support systems for these tariffs are not really robust enough to handle mass market volumes.
Frustrating for those like you who took the time to understand it fully, but didn't move before things got restricted.

Sometimes, if you speak to someone else at Octopus, you can get a different result. Perhaps, try via DM twitter. Everytime, I've used Octopus twittter - I got the result i was after.

Yeh, that's fair. Given my tariff standard charge is 25.66p and unit rate is 33.46p and I use about 5kWh a day, it wasn't really sensible for me to swap before that tariff ended, but I was hoping the fact we've been discussing it might have meant they'd be able to have me skip the queue!

A couple of months over summer on agile shouldn't be too bad though.

Going to be interesting moving forwards as the wait list on Tracker along with the 30 day rule on switching between smart tariffs is going to make it harder to do the summer/winter swaps people have been used to...

I wonder how many of these new sign ups hold their nerve if wholesale prices were to start rising again and tracker prices for a period are more than the EPG, if they decide to fall back onto Octopus flexible they could be in for a shock if they think they can then simply jump back to Tracker when wholesale costs fall again.

I've been having problems with my electric meter not sending regular readings (I've installed the Bright app to keep an eye on it and it can get readings for a few days in a row, then get nothing for a week - its a SMETS1 meter that has been updated at some point as it started sending readings about a year ago, worked fine for most of the year but since December it's been very intermittent), so had delayed asking to join the tracker.

I did submit a request via the website though and thought the wait period was just a bog standard thing that wouldn't actually apply. Oh well, looks like I've missed the boat!

I doubt many jumping on the hot UK deals links will know what to do daily as is the case here they will more than likely sit on it and be happy or unhappy.

Potential current EPG reduction of  up to 33.43p / kWh  against electricity unit rates / 6.7p / kWh against gas unit rates.

Would take a mega mega spike for tracker to go higher than EPG.
