Octopus Tracker

I still wonder how they can do this. I believe the Tracker prices aren't subsidised by the EPG, which means Octopus is receiving 25.13p/kWh today, and as far as I can see it was below 30 at least since the start of the year. Whereas on normal terms they'd get 32.77p from me and another 31p or so from the Government.

EPG does apply to Tracker; however, for the majority of the time, it hasn't been required, and therefore, it hasn't cost the taxpayer (or Octopus*) anything.Qyburn said:I still wonder how they can do this. (*it varies between different Tracker versions, of course, with v1, for example, still on caps of 30p/kWh and 6p/kWh, which are below the EPG floors, so EPG never applies. The tracker UR caps will have applied at various times, though, particularly for gas, so will cost Octopus, but, presumably, there are relatively few people on v1?)

Will those of us coming up to renewal be affected? What tariffs might we be offered?SJMALBA said:0 -
Well we can thank the HUKD thread for them (pretty much) closing the door on Tracker.
Cant say I am surprised given how many people they must have had signing up for it.1 -
They are (or at least have been up until now) been sending out tariff options email about 7 weeks before fixed term expires. My gas fixed term expires March 14th. electricity fixed term expires 2 April.tlcgrantham said:

Not relevant to many but Octopus has withdrawn The Tesla Energy Plan for those who own Powerwall2 batteries. Presumably, all the new smart tariffs plus Flexible will be available on renewal.tlcgrantham said:

I was hoping they might keep me on Gas Tracker V2. Has anyone been offered the chance to remain on their existing tracker tariff recently?[Deleted User] said:

My gas tracker (v1) has an end date against it on my account. The electricity one has no end date against it. Be interesting to see how long that lasts.1

I have 48 days left on gas tracker according to the App. The 49 day rule has been changed to reasonable notice given that we now have 5? Day switching.bristolleedsfan said:
