Cheers, I suppose by then it's "today's" rate. I thought I saw reference to being able to see the next day's rate somewhere, can't now find where that was mentioned.
By the way on the web account, when you select "Launch Tracker", what is that suppose to show, a demo or real figures? Some don't make any sense, like January average unit rate of 35.60p while wholesale is 49.330 -
Thanks. Have found that but that only shows what's been used that day. I was looking for the actual meter read._Sam_ said:
Not very latest, but the previous day you can view: on the "explore my energy use" page click "download your smart data" for gas and electrics.poshboy said:Is there a way with Octopus on the website to view what the latest reading is for gas and electric on the smart meters? I can see what I have used on a daily and weekly basis from the smart meter but not what the actual current reading is they have.0 -
Thanks for that.Spoonie_Turtle said:

I'm using the official app as well since nobody is able to recommend anything else and mine shows both gas and electricity when you tap the "Usage" icon in the bottom menu.mobile73 said:
I mean the actual Octopus App. It shows electricity but no mention of gas at all (website shows both). I did also just install the Octopus Home mini - don't know if that has caused it? I also use the Bright App which has the old tariff on as well (not sure if that can update to show tracker?). Thanksjasonwatkins said:
Which app are you using ?mobile73 said:Hi, I have switched to the tracker today, but my App on my phone seems to only show electricity and not montion gas at all (website shows readings from about 3 days ago). Also, the IHD still is based on energy guarantee tariff. Will both of these update automatically, or do I need to contact Octopus? thanks
Maybe uninstall the Home Mini and see if that works ?0 -
Faster switching has been in place for sometime. The aim is to go for one day switching. Sadly, industry processes are still of a bygone era. The principle of smart metering is one supplier: one meter. The supplier has to update the two National Databases with switch details and then the DCC will allow it to send out a bespoke security certificate to each of your meters. Once this process has been completed, your meters will respond to requests to send usage data. Gas account set up has always taken longer than electricity.poshboy said:Octopus have handled our switch really well. Can't believe how quick it has been to switch. We've moved onto the tracker tariff which was arranged via Twitter for the day of our switch. The only issue I have at the moment is that the electricity smart meter is showing usage on the website/app, but the gas isn't. I've been told it can take 14 days which is fine, but is it normal for one to connect before the other? Just wondered if others found the same thing?

been with Octopus/on this tariff for 1 week. very happy

we don't have smart meters. iv'e supplied readings for both 3 or 4 times just to see how things work. Gas cost is then updated instantly each time but theres been nothing updated on the Electricity. its just updates on the gas, not an actual bill.
is Electricity likely to catch up with instant updates or am i going to have to wait for the monthly bill?
thank you.0 -
I am looking to join Octopus tracker, for electric and gas, can't take any more stress from EDF who have messed up both my utilities since taking my gas supply from Zog. I am not on twitter etc, do not have a smart phone, so how easy will it be to contact Octopus, manage my bills etc. Any Zog customers here, now with Octopus, are you glad you switched? I am just so apprehensive, can't take anymore aggro due to ongoing health issues. I have found the tracker kw rates but not the standard charge for each utility for the South West, can anyone help with this.Concerned that I am in credit with EDF after the government rebate and WHD, on easily getting this paid to me from EDF if I switch.0

do it. start the switch now. you'll be switched over in a few days. then phone them and ask to be put on the tracker tariff as you will be on the variable one to start with.
can do everything on app but phoning will be best to get on the tracker to start with.
when you switch it will take a while but your EDF money will come back to you, not go to Octopus.
this tells you all you need to know about tracker rates/SC

If I don’t submit readings for a few days or Octopus have a blip with their tariff not showing on the app it can take a few days for your balance to update. Generally I get the balance update immediately and a bill the next morning. The bill can also be delayed if it is around the time your DD goes in as it takes a couple of days for the payment to credit your account.pfpf said:been with Octopus/on this tariff for 1 week. very happy
