They seem to have ditched that, though it did happen when I first switched them (thanks Ben!). In my tracker switch the first person gave the wrong answer and clearly didn't know what to do (I'm looking at you, Nick), but the second person fixed it (thanks Georgie!). Keeping the same person on a query only works if the person has the experience/training/common sense to know how to handle it.PNELancs said:
The first time I messaged them I got an automated reply saying they always tried to have the same person dealing with your queries throughout - so there might be a delay if that person isn’t in the office for example.4.7kWp (12 * Hyundai S395VG) facing more or less S + 3.6kW Growatt inverter + 6.5kWh Growatt battery. Sadly after doing further investigtaing with my current supplier, EDF, and having decided to switch to Octopus, I won't be able to just yet due to the EDF billing. We've been on semi-annual bills so our latest bill has only just been generated and our DD re-calculated meaning we've not been paying enough for months and are left with a £380 debt that if I switched would need repaying.Frustrating as I was actually looking forward to switching but will need to clear that debt first.1

Technically, it is not a debt unless you have been asked to repay what is due and the matter has been outstanding for more than 28 days. You are though 100% correct that a debit balance has to be settled as part of any Final Bill. Presumably, the amount owed will be much higher in 6 months time unless your DD payments are sufficient to cover it?cupcake43 said:Sadly after doing further investigtaing with my current supplier, EDF, and having decided to switch to Octopus, I won't be able to just yet due to the EDF billing. We've been on semi-annual bills so our latest bill has only just been generated and our DD re-calculated meaning we've not been paying enough for months and are left with a £380 debt that if I switched would need repaying.Frustrating as I was actually looking forward to switching but will need to clear that debt first.0 -
I've been looking at some of the iPhone apps but can anyone recommend a decent one ?
I like Octo-Aid for the layout and the way it breaks down the consumption and prices but apparently the Octopus Watch one is supposed to be more accurate.

I've done that and I prefer Octo-Aid for the layout but i'd still be interested in people's opinions about what they use and what they find useful.Alnat1 said:Get both and see which you prefer.0 -
DD has gone from £166 PM to £199 PM to cover the debt, but putting out usage into the DD calc it's suggesting we should be paying around £225 PM[Deleted User] said:

Given the current situation, unfortunately, finding an spare £380 laying around isn't possible. So I'll have to review the account probably around May June time when usage has dropped and hopefully we should be clear then to switch over.SpanishBlue said:cupcake43 said:Sadly after doing further investigtaing with my current supplier, EDF, and having decided to switch to Octopus, I won't be able to just yet due to the EDF billing. We've been on semi-annual bills so our latest bill has only just been generated and our DD re-calculated meaning we've not been paying enough for months and are left with a £380 debt that if I switched would need repaying.Frustrating as I was actually looking forward to switching but will need to clear that debt first. If you can afford to do so, make a one off payment to clear the debt. You should then be able to switch.0
