happy Wednesday ☔️
We had lunch out yesterday and today. We also called at the fabulous bakery place (in the middle of nowhere) and çame home with some pies, buns and sourdough bread. The diet isn’t going great this week, but I’m making sure to at least try to stay under maintenance calories. I had a fabulous hot dog and chips (well half the chips) for lunch and then made myself do my walk when we got back so I hit my 10k steps.Yesterday we went to Whaligoe steps. The weather was terrible, but it’s been a while since we’ve been and I wanted to see if I could make it all the way down and back without dying 😅 (I could, but my calves have been complaining today.) How those fisherwomen managed to carry baskets of fish up those steps is mind boggling…they definitely had it harder than the fishermen in my opinion! Like most things in the far north, there are fantastic views, but nothing else around. You go to see some steps and that’s basically it 😬

Today was a lunch at my favourite place (yes I did have a sundae 😅). When we came back I went for a walk to get my 10k steps. This week has been everything weather wise. We’ve had freezing rain, winter coat and hat weather, then autumn like mist and warmer rain and today was glorious summer sunshine. It’s been so unpredictable this year.I have £40 birthday money and £20 vouchers and MrWW has paid for all our lunches out this week and bought me a lovely hoodie, so this week has been wonderful and also extremely MSE for me.
Next week will be a shock to the system being back to work and reality. I need to find a way that works to add in my daily steps while working.I managed to put half a pound on overnight and today will not have helped things! I finished strong with some birthday chocolates 😬 Next week is a new week! I would rather enjoy things while I can and not fret too much about the calories. It’s hard to take in that I have lived more than half my life now, I couldn’t double this without hitting the record books 😬

Glad you've had a lovely week. Life is definitely too short to be obsessing about calories all the time. It's good to find the balance. I'm with you on trying to fit exercise in when working though."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1

Thank you 🎂
Back to work today and the email madness. I’ve almost caught up, but not quite. I was vaguely annoyed that on the group chat the team manager said happy birthday to someone on the team who had their birthday 2 days after mine, so everyone including me said happy birthday to them. At my age I shouldn’t care, but it felt a bit of a snub…she knew about mine as I had posted on Instagram 😣 It was also my work anniversary on Sunday…I’ve been there longer than the rest of this particular team have been alive…oh well, I didn’t want a fuss, but a small mention might have been nice!Anyhow, in better news I have treated myself to a nutribullet and a little recipe book. I don’t know what I’ll do with it, but smoothies and chopping onions (not at the same time!) piqued my interest and it was a good price 😅
I’ve only managed 7.5k steps today. It’s harder when I don’t have time to get outside and the walking pad is very hard on my feet for some odd reason. Maybe I need to wear different trainers.

Sorry your birthday wasn’t mentioned by your manager. I know how you feel. In my last job my manager made a huge thing for one of our teams 60th birthday big collection cake etc. my 50th was the following month and it was ignored. We were a split team working in different locations but got together once a month but it still felt like a snub. The people I actually worked in the office with celebrated but not my wider team. It doesn’t matter what age you are birthdays are still special. Glad you enjoyed your birthday week off though xxslowly working towards being MF one small over payment at a time :T1
