Glad you’re ok. Don’t knock nothing exciting to recount that’s a win from my perspective 😆

Did you manage to get those quotes for the garage roof yet?

No Pennys! Probably a good thing as I seem to have spent half of my money (excluding the car fund pb’s) 😬 I really do want a quote so I know what to aim for, but MrWW is not a speedy animal and it would be better for him to get in touch in the hope of a small mates rates win 😬 This is why I end up doing most jobs myself…but I think roofing may be a step too far for me 😅

I stocked up on cat bits too, although usually this means we all go off whatever I bought.
  • Hmm time for some structured gentle nagging, like 'Oh, it's Friday, do ask your mate so he can have a think over the weekend', and if that doesn't work 'Hmm, the weather is looking a bit hit and miss this week, could you message your pal so we can think about it while there might be sun' and if that doesn't work 'I am running away to join the circus and that garage roof better be fixed when I get back in a year's time'

Ooh, I’d love to join the circus, but a year for the roof seems ambitious! It’s a bit too soon for me to be the bearded lady, but I suppose I could muck out the clowns or something 😬

Good morning ⭐️ I hardly slept last night. I was in a terrible snit, which didn’t help!
When MrWW isn’t working we normally go for lunch on a Saturday, so I put something nice on, was all dressed up and ready to go and he announced he didn’t feel like going out for lunch today. Then he saw I was ready and grudgingly said we could go if I wanted to, but he wasn’t feeling it. Honestly, who wants to go with someone who feels they are being forced. He said as we’d had a takeaway this week he didn’t think he needed to. The takeaway is always his choice and quite frankly if someone made my meals every day, I wouldn’t get as happy about eating out either! Grrrr. So, although I realise it’s quite childish I wasn’t feeling the love for MrWW yesterday 😅 We went to MrT and L*dl and then I made lunch. As I was getting everything sorted I turned to ask him how he wanted something and he’d disappeared….he was in his couch !!!!!! groove merrily playing on his Xbox 😖 After lunch he was watching F1 so I took myself off for my steps walk and spent an hour in the countryside and cliff tops where I saw not one other person. So I was feeling silently grumpy and hard done by. To be fair he did buy me two houseplants in L*dl (which I’m sure the cats will eat and throw up in no time, but I’ll try to keep them alive), but it still just felt like a waste of a day. I work all week thinking about the weekend and then the weekend is so dull it’s criminal!
We did have some very excellent waffle and maple syrup chicken fillets from MrT yesterday. I had mine in a bagel thin with mayo and it was very good.
MrWW is at work today, so I have no idea what I’ll do, apart from house jobs and getting the steps in.
On the money front, I have had a bad month, what with sales and prime day, etc. I seem to have cleared out my pots and on hand savings. Thank goodness pb’s are safe from my sticky fingers! So I think from now and through August I need to have a spending reset. I’m going to try and do a no spend challenge until September. I really need to get a grip again. I’m going to ask myself the awkward questions…do I need it?, do I already have something similar?, will I really use it, or is it just for the sake of having it?  I definitely just feel a bit worn down and defeated at the moment.
So I will try and do a daily check in where I will own up to any spending and hopefully report on my step count. Yesterday was 13,243 steps. It’s always easier without 9 hours tied to a desk!
I hope you all have a good Sunday ☀️

  • Not childish at all to work all week and cook for someone all week and expect to have some quality time at the weekend. Forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn, but you do often sound in your posts like you're horribly bored and frustrated, and that spending is often linked to that. Could it be at all on the cards that you might move somewhere with a bit more life in a few years? Or that you could save up for some occasional weekends away either as a couple or by yourself when WW doggo is no longer with you (which will hopefully be a long way away)...
