Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope you are having a good day. I’ve nothing exciting to report, but am keeping everything crossed that the NI increase is reversed on Fridays mini budget. I’m not too sure about the other measures I’ve read about so far, but I expect big businesses and bankers are perusing the cruise catalogues right now 😬
it seems a bit strange after the 10 days of mourning for the news to be settling back down into normal news again.I enjoyed bake off last night, probably the right person left again, but there are a few weak links. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I had a really busy work day, but am settling in ready for…biscuit week.I’m just watching the riot in Leicester on the news…shocking 😕 I just don’t understand why people feel the need to do this. I go through life thinking we have a peaceful integrated country, but clearly not 😢
No spend day today and my jumpers have arrived.
Also, in my experience, 'bringing shame on the community' is hugely condemned, and is not lightly forgiven regardless. Those handful of prosecutions will be devastating some families in the city. A sad day all round. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

@redofromstart you could be right about the media…it’ll have been a slow news day after everything royal ended, but it still looked scary. The religious and community leaders who were interviewed seemed very sensible and calm about it, which was good to see.

Good morning and happy Thursday ☕️🍫📚
To say this is a short working week, it’s panning out to be a very long week 😢 it feels like a fortnight already! I have a week off next week, which doesn’t help as it’s trying to catch up to a point where I can leave everything…although I suspect I’ll need to bob in a few times to action things I’m waiting for.
I spent over £100 yesterday on pet food bits for next month. Annoying, as we have loads in that I bulk bought on the prime day, but they have suddenly all decided to like some posh pate they are running out of 😖 and of course some treats for dog. I have paid up front, but will take it back from Octobers budget (a week tomorrow). So much for not spending this week.
I hope you all have a lovely day filled with happiness and all good stuff ⭐️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I’ve caught up…..it’s taken me a while but ww and friends have had me laughing and full of admiration for the advice and support……and in envy of ninjas and mini printers 😂
You’ve come a long way WW with the spending (well on a good day you have) - the main thing is you now have your separate pots and haven’t blown the lot 👍
I'm loving the way you take the dog for a ride - reminds me of a fire fox terrier we used to have who loved the smells through the car window, sadly passed away a long time ago 😢
I have several quilting books keep threatening to make a proper one, I once made a quilt for my dd when she went to uni…..a cheapskate copy of a M&S one she’d had her eye on - but it was big oblongs rather than little shapes.I’ve subscribed 👍January spends - £587.581 -
Good luck in your efforts to pay off the loans. The challenge of becoming debt-free by Christmas is fantastic and truly keeps you on track.

Im so glad to see you here. And quilting is one of those hobbies where you are a beginner until you’re about 95 I think, so I hope you were very proud of the one you did. It was supposed to be a way to use up old material to keep warm, but it’s hard to remember that when you are selling a kidney for a nice patterned material and a bit of batting 😖Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Good morning and happy Friday ⭐️⭐️⭐️I am on leave for a whole week if I manage to survive the day! Although I may have to log in for a few bits that are causing me headaches 😕 I’m looking forward to mini printing some photos of where we go (probably just what we eat 😬) for my scrappy journal.
I see interest rates have gone up again. Our mortgage is fixed for another 4 years, so that’s a relief, and at least the national insurance rise is getting reversed in November. It’s not a big difference, but at least it’s something! I’m not sure what else will happen on the mini budget today…it doesn’t feel like a mini anything does it?

I’m so pleased our mortgage is paid. I remember all the interest rates of the 80s when the kids were little and inflation was high….looks like history is repeating itself 😳 it did do us a favour as, although we struggled, once the interest rates came down we continued to pay the same mortgage most of the time and paid it off years ahead of it’s time.
Hope you have some exciting things planned for your week off 👍January spends - £587.582
