  • Sounds like you had a busy day WW. I used my ninja!!  I batch cooked a curry on pressure cook and didn’t blow the house up, it even tasted good and made a pasta bake in it for tea. Two successful meals!! I’m almost ready for Master Chef 🤣🤣🤣 xx

  • Nice @beanielou, I hope you had a great time.
well done @southern_chick, I’m very impressed! I’ll look out for you on next years bake off 😁
I tried to make plum pies, but I followed the advice for stewing plums and ended up with a pan of sour stewed sick looking weirdness! Adding more sugar didn’t improve the taste and it was just wrong…so that got binned! Then I made some giant sausage rolls as I had puff pastry to use up as the pies were a washout. Luckily the sausage rolls were a success!
Today will be a dog drive and then more cutting out for the quilt. I need about 400 pieces.
I hope you all have a perfect Sunday ☕️📚🍫

  • Glad the sausage rolls worked. Shame about the plums. I’ve had to throw away a batch of cookies that definitely didn’t work. It’s a work in progress lol. Enjoy your dog drive and quilt cutting xx

  • Happy belated Monday 😁🍫♥️
Work is incredibly busy, I think I should have worked all night but I’ve definitely had enough! I did some spending yesterday as I found I was short on some of the material I had in and then I ordered a bolt for backing and some thread….I’d started so I got carried away 😬 I’ll still need batting when I finally get to that bit. I should at least be able to get all the pieces cut next Saturday. I only have 41 left.

My work is busy too cancelling and rearranging everything for after the period of mourning, there are so many things we can’t do until after next week. Totally understandable though.

You sound very knowledgeable on the crafting front.

It has been raining on and off here but quite muggy.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

We’ve had a bit of that, but mostly quarter end and half way through the financial year, creating lots of reporting and extra work on top of the usual 😢
I’m definitely no sewing expert, but have a fair few full sized quilts under my belt now…one day I hope to make a perfect one, but I’m probably 20 years away from that.

  • Another horribly busy day today, but in other news my black eye is visibly almost gone. I do prefer not looking battered! Two places still hurt if I poke them and I still have a bump and a dint in my eyebrow. I’ve developed a bad habit of patting the doorframe and muttering ‘you could have killed me’ to it as I walk by 😬 🤣
I cooked the dogs chicken in the ninja tonight. I just had chip wraps myself as MrWW is on night shift so I could get away not much cooking. The chips were also ninja chips 😁 it’s getting easier to remember to use it.
I treated myself to some chocolates from the fridge (a present from mum), but unfortunately they are perfect spheres which rolled out of the box onto the floor!! I washed them..they are too posh to waste 🙄
I hope you all had a good Tuesday ☕️🍫

I've had my ninja a bit longer than you've had yours but I was reluctant to use it as cleaning it looked like it could be difficult. I was reading the blog of someone who sometimes posts on the old style board and she mentioned buying greaseproof paper so that she could start to use hers. I already had greaseproof paper and now I'm a happy ninja user.
  • That’s a good idea @CRANKY40. I bought some flat liners for the drawers, then realised they had holes in, so it totally defeats the object! I use parchment paper on the baking trays so could soon fold it for the drawers.
