I’ve just seen on the Ninja Dual FB group that Amazon have some silicone drawer liners - might be worth a look. I must say I find the Dual the easiest of my 3 Ninjas to keep clean. The 8 in 1 flip oven is the worst.

I have some of those drawer liners SA. Shamefully I haven’t taken them out of the plastic packaging yet 🤦🏻‍♀️
I really must wash them and give them a go!

  • Happy Friday at last 😁
we had some excitement this week as a little black cat showed up in the garden and decided to camp out in our garage. It was very hungry so we fed it up and also frontlined it as it was sporting a big tic on its head (shudder). We were getting to the posting found cat notices with cats protection and working out the logistics of getting it checked for a chip when we found a lost cat announcement last night. We were ready for bed (early 🤣) so had to get dressed, went out to see if we could find it and it just skipped straight in the door ♥️. So we bundled her in a cat carrier and took her up the village, where they were convinced it was their cat. The weird thing is we had looked at the undercarriage and the cat seemed to be sporting boy bits, but the family had given it a girls name and said she was chipped and everything. It gave us a bit of an ‘are you sure it’s your cat’ moment, but she really seemed fine there and not scared, so it must have been ok! So that’s one less mouth to feed and my cat food supplies will last a bit longer now..he/she was eating like a horse!
I have bought some half price Joe Browns jumpers for winter, 3 of them, so I’ve not been as good as I should be! But still within budget for September, so I’m not too worried (and one of them has a rabbit on!)
I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday ☕️🍫📚

I'm glad that you found the cat's home. If they still think it's a girl it's possible that it hasn't been chipped or the vet would have told them maybe?

My aunty who was both a registered nurse and a midwife bought my cousins a kitten when they were small. My mum was the oldest sister so I am quite a bit older than my cousins. Anyway, Aunty H told my cousins that when the cat was big enough they would let it have kittens itself. I was 15 at the time but I'd already spent a lot of time with animals. I turned the kitten upside down and after a quick inspection (you know where this is going right?) handed it back and said they'd have a job letting it have kittens because it was a tom cat. My aunty (nurse etc remember) looked at me and said "How do you know that?". Ummm...seriously!!!!

Yay to half price jumpers. I like Joe Browns too.
  • @CRANKY40 the lady did say well I guess we won’t be having kittens then and I silently thought ‘good’. You don’t just let a very young girl cat play out un neutered, they get pregnant so easily and it’s not good for them when they’re still babies themselves…and all the homeless cats and kittens should make anyone pause. I’m laughing at your auntie too, those fluffy extra bits are on the outside 🤔

When we got our cat a couple of years ago I wanted a girl because I'm the only girl in the house. I went there and the lady showed me 'it had a slit' so ti must be a girl. Well, I think she gave us the cat way too early, because a couple of weeks later it started growing boy bits. Now I'm still the only girl in the house ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Years ago I bought a ginger male kitten that turned out to be female and a female kitten (I was assured was definitely a she) turned out to be male!

My registered nurse SIL didn’t know she was pregnant until she gave birth 😱 She was rushed into hospital with suspected appendicitis and gave birth a couple of hours later.

I remember there was a show called 'I didn't know I was pregnant' (I think!) and I found it so... fascinating but so hard to believe it was true. Shocking!

A friend of my parents had exactly the same happen to her.
@jokono I always had girl cats with just one boy and it was fairly decent harmony, but through old age and illness, my little girls all went and now I am left with rescue boys. Two of them can’t be in the same room and one of them pees EVERYWHERE. I’d hate to think what they’d be like un-neutered 🙄

  • I hope you are all having a great Saturday. I went to b&m for pink and white wafers and spent over £30 🤦🏻‍♀️
MrWW bought the food shop and dog treats so we are well stocked up for a few weeks now. I do love a well stocked freezer…although I could probably last a few weeks on my own fat reserves..sigh.
my aim is to not spend anything for a week now. I’d say the rest of the month, but we are on leave for the last week of the month, so I’m sure I’ll need to spend something…just not too much.
Tomorrow I will finish cutting out for the log cabin, as the rest of the material arrived.
I am thoroughly enjoying The Ink Black Heart, the latest Strike book. JKR really knows how to write people!
I hope you have a lovely day ☕️🍫📚
