NST April 2021: Diamonds and Daisies

I've made up for my sloth yesterday. Before Himself got up I'd put on and hung up a washing, did an ironing, sorted out the throws and cushions, fed the squirrels and birds and attended to the outdoor and indoor plants. Whilst he was in the shower I changed the bedding and put it in the wash. All dried outside now and waiting to be ironed tomorrow. Tesco delivery arrived. We've been a little bit "exotic" and ordered things we wouldn't normally but it all arrived and we're are now looking forward to cooking something a bit "different". Dinners were all getting a bit "samey".
Chicken in the oven for dinner. The Boy is coming for his weekly treat. I think he's getting just a little bit bored with being on his own so I think I might suggest that I take some lunch up to him during the week so he has real life company for an hour or so.
I have a series of books that I want to buy for Himself for his birthday in July and could get all apart from the first one. Finally sourced one second hand in a bookshop in US. It's broken my plan to only spend on food this month but I've bought it anyway in case it's not available later. It was the only place I could find it (well apart from Am*z*n where they were selling it for £34.00 for a paperback!!!) and I know that if he can't get the first one it would annoy him since he likes to read everything in order. I like to buy something for him every month so it is budgeted for.
Well, better get on with the roasties.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
NSD number 8 today. Went horse riding first thing, only 30 minutes as had to avoid a close encounter with the air ambulance (nasty accident close by). Hopefully everyone is okay. Took myself for a bit of a walk as well and have done a few jobs around the house. Also fell asleep on the sofa! Have had a bath and going to relax and read for a bit.
Back to work tomorrow, I checked through my emails yesterday so I was prepared, partly wish I hadn't but at least I know what I'm going back to! Am determined not to be taken advantage of any more and not to take on too much. It's become too easy to take on more during lockdown. Enjoy what's left of the weekend everyone6 -
NSD no.9 today.
Sorry for being AWOL. Being tired after work and doing extra shifts. Making the most of the extra shifts before the end of May as it looks like when my contract at my current location ends. I have one Saturday for this month and 1 Saturday and 2 bank holidays for next month. Being trying to keep on top of things around the flat.
Grateful for:
Good night's sleep.

NSD 10. Made a chicken dinner. Planted up lots of my triffid tomatoes in half a pop bottle 'plant pots', found 10 small plant pots and used those as well. Moved some of the buckets of soil back about a yard as they were on the edge of where I had been digging and want to move a foot or so round the corner so I can see clearly what I am doing. Dug a bit more but didn't shovel it into buckets (I have 3 x 40 l ones spare), Finished the book I was reading.
Grateful for getting things done (even if I wish it could have been more), harvesting the last of the sprouts, having a bit of space in my room now I have cut and used the first huge sackful of bottles (there are 25 tomato triffids on one shelf and 16 more in a box), think there is another one behind the shed.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -

Thank you foxholes, a few more good suggestions to try. Going to phone the Dr again tomorrow, hubby nearly fainted in the bathroom this afternoon.
Had a bonfire before breakfast, finished my book & spent the rest of the day sewing. Made roast beef for tea & used up the dregs from a couple of boxes of cereal by turning them into Doodlebugs.
Sold another item listed on a local selling page.
That's everyone fed & watered, so off for a soak in the bath before LoD 😊Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

Today I am grateful for drying washing on the line, for an afternoon walk by myself and not too many other people in a park, for a evening walk near home with a good friend, for veggies, for still having another week of holiday left.

Hi
NSD#6. More studying, had a walk with DD1's bestie and sat in her garden and had a cuppa tea. Made a veggie roast dinner with enough leftovers for another day. Helped DD2 with a job application.
Gratitudes - completed another part of my qualification; finding sprouts deep in the fridge; LoD

It wasn't a no spend day yesterday as we bought some pots and bark at the garden centre and its unlikely to be one today as I've told MIL I'd come collect her for a canal walk. Hopefully we'll be able to get a cuppa and a butte at the marina afterwards but it might be completely mental as its still school hols here and the first day of being open.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020
