NSD No 7
Lovely day and I had to walk to the hairdresser to get a patch test before my appointment tomorrow. I cannot wait to get something done with this hair. I feel such a frump.
Made stock from yesterday's chicken which will become cream of celery soup. For the first time ever I made coronation chicken with the leftovers and I was pleasantly surprised by the results. Even Himself liked it. Tonight I am making stuffed red peppers. I haven't done those before either so it all a big culinary adventure here today.
I also got a citation for jury service. I would have real problems getting to the venue (a cinema complex because of COVID) and I really don't think I could sit for hours and possibly days with a mask on so I've applied for an exemption as I can be excused on grounds of age. After much faffing around I managed to scan my passport and email it to them (no postal requests being accepted at the moment). A reply came back within minutes granting my request. I am relieved.
Right. Best go prepare these peppers.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Very busy day. Up early as electrician was coming to sort out the burglar alarm. Moved everything out of the cupboard. Moved all the coats and bags from the hall. Took 2 sets of ladders round the side, near to the door, blocked off rest of yard.
They arrived. Let them in once they were masked up. Box outside is a dummy. Control pad is only that, alarm somewhere else. Found the noisemaker. Found what I think is the panic button. I was basically going round the house pulling furniture away from the walls near to where there was a plug, trying to find a large box. Finally got to my room. Most likely places behind or on the far side of the bed (which I struggle to move at the best of times). Just started piling stuff on the bed because I needed space to move the bed into if I could.
Then they said they had done it. They had found the box (in the cupboard but above the door frame) but didn't bother telling me. Worn out and fed up before 11 am and terrified to even look at my room. Thought I'd destroyed everything I've been doing over the past few weeks. So had a little rest and came up with a plan. Worked steadily throughout the day, with lots of rest breaks and working sitting down when I could. Have cleared the bed, lots has gone outside. My last job was to smooth the mattress cover, sweep and then sponge it and turn it through 180 degrees.
Having a longish rest and then will go and make up the bed. After that I can collapse on it if I need to. The remaining stuff will be done one bag or box at a time. My back, feet and shoulders all ache but all my previous sorting did help in the end.
Grateful for the alarm being disconnected (can have the lights on again now), my room looking quite reasonable (it's super), for doing far more than I thought possible. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -

Evening all, spend day today but all planned. Bought a water filter as our tap water has tasted funny since we moved in and I've always meant to get one but just never got round to it. I refuse to drink bottled water! Also paid for physio and parking. Had to drive there through a complete blizzard (what on earth is going on with the weather!) And now my car is filthy, went to the car wash but it was closed as it's "too cold" so that can wait until my next planned spend day. Off swimming in an hour, can't wait!
Grateful for a decent physio session, swimming and eating leftovers.8 -
NSD today. Second week of school hols and everyone was still surprisingly calm
😀 Swimming resarted tonight for DS3 - what a faff with covid regs - but needs must - hopefully it can ease a little come the Summer
Did a bit of admin which has resulted in the promise of £44 refund. Also had £55 refund for DH'S car tax arrive, so paid that in via app - nothing would persuade me to go into town today with the masses!!

Spend day as paid for Fb exercise class and bought DD2 some contact lenses. Also ordered a garden bench! Asked if they would deliver and they agreed they would for a fiver! Had a productive day at work and did online support group for qualification. Went onto BGas online chat to complain about having to wait over 2 months & 4 rearranged appointments before my heating and water were fixed. They offered £20 which is better than nothing. Had video call with sisters as one of my little sisters has a significant birthday
Had a quick walk and then watched some TV.
Gratitudes - washing dried on the line; nice video call with sisters; central heating (thought it was spring now?!)

Monday- Sunday was NSD 6 but today was yet another spending day!
Back to work so typically the weather is better. As expected first day back was hectic.
Grateful today for being able to ride after work in day light, for getting some seeds planted (pots are in the porch as I suspect more frosty nights still to come), time to read a bit more of my book.

Still NSD 6/16.
Yesterday I spent £55 from our ’house maintenance’ budget on getting the oven working again. And today is a top-up shop day. I’ve got less than £3 left of this week’s grocery budget, and it’s not going to cover it. I’ve got milk, bread, and vegan burgers on my shopping list.
Weather has been sunny but cold here. But has been decent enough to dry DS’s bedsheets every day for the last 5 days. He was dry after the first 2 nights without a nappy, but wet for the last 5.
Back to work yesterday. Did my morning motivation - setting up my work equipment while tea brewing. But I did something I usually try not to do - work on.
I worked on until about 9:30 last night - hooked on trying to solve an issue with our website. It meant I didn’t have a proper dinner (I had cereal!), I was tired and frustrated, I had a bad night’s sleep, I had irrational thoughts, and I’ve woken up tired and feeling low. Totally self-inflicted. Overworking is not good for me. I’ll not be doing it again. A half hour is fine, but 5 hours is not.
Grateful for tea in bed, lighter mornings, and this thread to confess and confide to. 😁
