Not sure on NSDs, but must be pretty good this monthHave been using all sorts of things up - latest is some almost empty and very old essential oils - DH decluttered a dead (and decaying and very smelly) rat into the bin (bleurgh), so the contents of several bottles of EOs were decluttered in afterwards! Thankful that the bin has been emptied today and that the rat wasn't in there long/ the weather wasn't warm. No idea where the rat came from - it had clearly been dead for a while and was in the middle of the front lawn - appeared overnight!
Aside from being thankful for the bin being emptied, I am also thankful for some hours at work this week, a day off work today, using various things up (love no longer wanted/ useful stuff going!), for the longer days, for warmer weather yesterday meaning DH and I enjoyed lunch out in the garden in the sunshineI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £208 -
I was a bit naughty today. I bought some seeds and lavender plants but I'm looking on it as an investment for a pleasant summer sitting outside in the sunshine (if we get any).
A new neighbour asked me if we had an Easter eggs hunt. She's Polish and said they don't do that there but she likes the idea of the tradition. Needless to say the mother of the blonde bombshells has it in hand and was going to invite her and her little toddler to take part. It's really nice that she wants to join in and be part of the community. What was funny was that she thought the girls (aged 8 and 6) were mine. Since I'm 72 I'm taking it as a compliment that I must be very young looking. Although I think it might be more that they are always running in and out of our house.
We're using some leftover roast beef and roast potatoes for dinner tonight together with some frozen sprouts. Himself had some leftovers that he had frozen for lunch (goodness only knows what it was or how long it had been in there!) and I had a salad using frozen smoked salmon. We will get through this eventually. Actually I'm hoping we'll get through it very soon.
And I'm pleased to say that I'm getting right back in to reading my book again.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.12 -
apple_muncher said:Ah yes, shrewbie, semana santa!! Enjoy!! How much are you allowed to do? Any news on the job you went for?Today I am grateful for getting stuff done at work, for dd going back to school, for a fantastic parents evening for dd, for sausage and mash for tea, for not crashing or rolling the courtesy car!
I just found out today. I am over the moon. To have a permanent contract and actually know what I’m being paid every month will be AMAZING and the salary is more than I expected.
For semana santa, looks like we are just chilling at home. We are not allowed to leave Madrid but foreigners can come here
Nothing special planned at all. going to relax and will have to buy some clothes as I have nothing suitable for an office environment.
Hope everyone is well!!! I am so grateful for the new job and I will definitely not be taking it for granted.

Congratulations @Shrewbie!!!
NSD 17 here, one more to go until I hit my target! Should have some spare left over this month. Have already been paid and planned April's budget but I won't start it till April.
Busy but productive day at work, finally a good day this week!
Grateful for sunshine, collecting my prescription and a good day at work.5 -
Still on NSD 11 as I needed milk desperately and was one day short on the lunchbox sausage rolls - I forgot they were in the oven one night, and by the time we remembered, they were inedible -so £5 was spent in Herr Aldee's Emporium of Food.Tomorrow is the last school run for the month. No more until 12th April. Have had notification of C-19 in Yr 7 and Yr 8 and Yr 9 already this week - nothing weeks 1 and 2, but week 3 has had people sent home. The kids are testing themselves twice a week over the holidays.Grateful for : home covid tests, good day volunteering - I think today I really helped someone just by listening-, sausages. The budgets are all looking good - still in credit. Will have quite a bit to TT at the end of the month if it carries on like this - fingers crossed.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
