Good morning! Happy Mother's Day to all Turtle Mothers, and all Mothers of Turtles, and to everyone that has ever had a Mother. It is your day today so do something to celebrate your existence.... and then do it every single day from now on.Washing on the line, washing in the machine, crumpet and coffee for breakfast. Going to make scones after the politics, then eat the scones, bake some bits for lunchboxes and after school snacks, vaguely hassle the kids about homework and just chill out really.I have hoicked out all my summer dresses, and will be trying each and every one of them on to see what still fits and then I will be wearing them with a cardi as soon as I am able to buy a cardi from the c/s. - the clocks go back in 2 weeks so it is lighter for longer and there is more time to do things in the mornings and evenings.4 weeks tomorrow the c/shops should be able to re-open. I caved and bought a y/s pair of supermarket black winter tights for £2 last week. I was down to my last pair and they are nearly indecent.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Tesco delivery arrived so lots of nice meals planned for next week.
Mr Peanuts managed to get into a sealed container of food and it was all over the place this morning. Quite clever creatures, these wee squirrels.
I am having a relaxing Mother's Day. Himself made me his delicious scrambled eggs with crusty rolls for breakfast and the Boy is coming for dinner for the first time in many months. I couldn't ask for more.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
I've not been around much for a couple of days, so I'm glad you're all behaving yourselves. I went on a little jaunt, to a nearby hospital, courtesy of dd. We stayed over for one night, but got kicked out at 10 pm the following night. She was an enigma to them until the last couple of hours but did manage to acquire a medical label in the end. She must have consumed nearly half her bodyweight in painkillers, but has needed quite a lot less today, so the rest of the world doesn't need to worry about a shortage of supplies.I am very grateful to all the medical staff who pulled out all the stops to try to find the problem especially at the weekend, for the lady who finally found a probable cause, for those who gave dd copious amounts of painkillers, for my dh running to and fro for us, for us all being covid-free and therefore not a danger to anyone, for the room having some free tv channels +for 2 rugby matches to watch, for free WiFi so dd was distracted a little, for being back home and getting some uninterrupted sleep.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

apple- hope DD is doing OK and the diagnosis is correct and treatable. Hopefully you have managed to squeeze in some relaxing moments today to set you up for the week ahead.
Sunday- 10/17 NSDs.
Got a card and some homemade crafts from DD this morning, she has tried to "spoil" me but she is a bit young to organise anything or cook so I'm stood making steak pie and mash for dinner!
Have managed to keep going with short bursts of housework, DD helped this morning and we got loads done in 30 minutes- or at least I got lots done and she moved all her stuff that was scattered over the house back to her bedroom!
Grateful today- for a really good riding lesson, a slightly tidied house, DD trying hard to make today special.4 -
Hugs to you all apple and hope you all get a good night's sleep.
Quiet day here. Homemade card and plant were well received - mum didn't know it was Mother's Day and thought it was a bought card (only with my time and tears) and that I had only added some lettering (amazing what you can do with wallpaper, leftover bits of card and scalloping scissors). I made us a lovely brisket with lots of veg lunch (chopped a raft of veg last night and once the brisket's in the oven you can relax for 3 hours).
Surprise visit from DS2 and his gf with flowers, a bar of chocolate and a card for each of us. They were on their way to visit the boys' father as he goes in for another minor op tomorrow. Today is a NSD but yesterday wasn't - mum should have had a delivery on the 11th which hasn't arrived and I had to use the overnight delivery service as she would have run out today. Sat to watch tv with mum. Had plans for a 'party' tea (well half a plan) but we only wanted something simple and I've had a bit of a slump so have a list of things to do, lots of prepared/ cooked veg and some recipe ideas and a few party bits to weave into this week. Munched my way through raw cauli, broccoli, red and yellow peppers, mange tout and baby sweetcorn with a dip (some chocolate may have been eaten this afternoon).
Grateful for a peaceful relaxing day, lovely food and a surprise visit. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
Happy mother's day to those Turtle Mama's out there. Had a nice chat with my mum today on the phone while she did her gardening.
Quick horse ride today as pony was being very naughty (blooming spring grass!), so came home and did a workout. Read my book and fell asleep in front of the TV for a bit. Popped to the shops for some eggs (and some brownies may have magically appeared in my basket!) So no NSD. Then home for a bath with some nice bath salts and now just making dinner. All in all not a bad Sunday.
Grateful for a good workout, my back feeling really good, and brownies!4 -
NSD 7 today! Going to herd kids towards the bath tub and veg in front of the tv with Grace.Hope it is as good as all the interviews say it is going to be.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thankful for getting my jab yesterday and so far not suffering with it (sore arm and constant headache being minor inconveniences), for easy food, for a lazy day, for pretty flowersI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £204
