Good morning all. Work day today so fairly quiet - we've already been for a walk and LaP is counting down to his lunchtime. One teenager has gone home because they had to work yesterday so just three of us for lunch today and two for dinner (which is defrosting on the side in the kitchen.

The freezer is full to bursting as usual but there wasn't much in the way of fruit in the supermarket yesterday. I'll have a look in the other supermarket when I drop LaP off to his parents this evening.

I'm back on the slimming world wagon after a few days off (mostly joining in with the takeaways and cocktails mentioned in previous posts). I'm going to try overnight oats for breakfast I think. I bought a jar to make it ages ago but having a Scottish gran and being brought up eating hot porridge, I'm having trouble getting my head round eating cold oats. It seems like a popular breakfast thing though and cheap enough as I have oats in and plenty of home grown fruit in the freezer so....

If I can find some melon today will be low spend. If not, it will be no spend.

I’m the same with porridge being hot and also have a jar, but haven’t tried overnight oats yet!

I've just picked anpther two handfuls of raspberries from the bottom of the garden so I'm thinking it's time to try it. I'm also contemplating stewing some rhubarb with sweetener and using that too.

Overnight oats are very popular but I'm not even really a porridge person. More coco pops for me! 🤣

I also dislike coco pops. I think they taste chemically.

If I had a hot tub I would sit in it with a book and a cocktail for hours.

I thought the same about cold oats but it's actually really nice.  Just make sure to use plenty of yoghurt otherwise it will be claggy.  Frozen fruit works better than fresh fruit.

Thank you - I've just made two to try and I used frozen fruit.

The first time that I filled it (3 years ago) he invited two friends round. They were in and out of it all afternoon and the water was so disgusting by the end of the day that I had to empty it and refill it. That's an image that's never quite left me so unless I'm the first in after it's been filled - no thanks.

Good morning all. I'm hoping for a quiet day today and a chance to do some housework. The HT has plans to go out somewhere or other which will probably involve me giving him a lift somewhere at some point but I don't mind as he doesn't go out often.

I've already stripped his bed and the bedding is in the washing machine. After the bedding I'll do a towel wash, then clothes. At last this is good drying weather. It's a bit cooler here today thank goodness. I love the heat but the house is starting to look a bit grubby round the edges as I joined in the "holiday from home" thing last week and did very little.

NSD today probably. There's nothing needed and the HT has his own money. There's two of us for lunch and hopefully only two of us for dinner. I'm not sure what's for dinner. Mine needs to be SW friendly.....
