Do you have plans where to scatter the ashes? I was going to go down to scatter my dads, but I think my mum got impatient with restrictions and the next thing I knew she was asking if I minded and then bam they were done. I got a lovely video of my brother in law wacking them out of a bucket…I laughed and cried 😬 it was the funniest scattering I’ve seen…I want to go out in a bucket now 😂

It will be good to see your sister this weekend albeit for such a sad occasion. I hope it goes well and you raise a glass to your dad.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

He's going in the Mersey @WinterWarrior. Apparently the ashes are in a biodegradable box and my sister said "Can't we just throw that in" I said "But what if it floats", Can you imagine - the Mersey is a busy shipping channel, we don't want anyone reporting it as a hazard to shipping 🤣
Thanksfor the thoughts everyone. We feel like we actually lost him several years ago when the hospital resuscitated him despite being asked not to - he was on a ventilator after a stroke then he had a heart attack. He ended up with vascular dementia which is caused by damaged blood vessels in the brain. He was in a home in London but thought that he was in a hotel in Blackpool.2 -
Aw, I bet your dad would have loved holding up a shipping channel. I know mine would have laughed at the bucket.
long illnesses are always hard. As long as he was enjoying his hotel stay in Blackpool! My grandad was convinced he could walk just fine and spent many years being irate at being manhandled into chairs, etc. (When he couldn’t even stand unaided) . It’s very cruel. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

My mum was buried and I bought a single rose to throw on her coffin when it was lowered. What I didn’t know was that it was a musical rose and when I threw it on her coffin the music was activated. Goodness knows how long it kept playing for. She would’ve found it funny. Fortunately for her she had a very short illness, diagnosed with a brain tumour at the end of July and passed away at the end of August. The blessing was she didn’t know a thing about it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Hello all, it's been a while. Dad's ashes were sent on their way on Sunday with a money saving bunch of flowers from my garden (he would have approved) and thank you all for your kind thoughts. My sister only went home today so computer time has been a bit limited.
My end of month summary is :-
Credit card £4800.00/£6816.69
Loan £1450.00/£2158.54
Other debt £ 0.00/£ 202.09
Total £6250.00/£9177.32
Reduction this month £ 362.50
Total reduction £2927.32
I've also paid an extra £17.20 off my loan just now which will save me £5 according to the bank's website.
I have informed the HT that we are now on an economy drive to save to go to London next spring. Nothing else will fit in the freezer so I'd say we're not going to starve any time soon.4 -
I’m glad it went well 🌺
