Thanks all. NSD yesterday - I dropped my sister at the airport then worked yesterday evening. I spent a lot on the other days that she was here. We buy lots of things like paracetamol and cold and flu tablets that cost a fortune where she lives. I also took her and my aunty out to lunch so we'll just draw a line under those days and carry on.
I went food shopping today. I tried to shop for the gaps in the supplies that mean that I can make meals out of the things that are already in the (very full) freezer. The shop also had the senior cat food that nowhere else seems to have at the moment so I bought a couple of boxes of that. The shelves in various shops do have a lot of empty spaces. Occasionally I treat the HT to some bottled water but this month I've put a new filter in the Brita water filter tank that we've had for years and put that in the fridge in happy anticipation of the warm weather coming back.
Our fridge does have a water dispenser thing but our water is horrible so it's worth the cost of the filter. I did find a use for the fridge dispenser last year though - I filled it with gin 😂5 -
I love that idea too 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Today was a spendy day. I took the HT out for coffee and a cake (budgeted for) and we called in Matalan on the way home to see if there were any decent sweatshirts for him ready for college. There weren't but he did spot a coat in the sale for £25 so I paid for that and then we went into town for a wander round. He had his ear pierced so that was another £10. i don't mind, he's not the type that keeps asking for things.

That sounds like a good day and a bargain coat too! I’m keeping an eye on George for when the Christmas sweatshirts come out 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

NSD on Saturday but yesterday was a slightly spendy day. The HT is fed up waiting for his GCSE results so we went for a drive, had coffee out and stopped to buy something for my friend which wasn't expensive but it's something that she hasn't been able to find locally. It was also quite heavy so I'm glad I was able to fetch it back for her in the car as she doesn't drive.
In other news, I've been spring cleaning or whatever the correct term is for a deep clean at this time of year. The pantry has been reorganised, all the garden stuff is back in the shed where it belongs and I'm about 3/4 of the way through decluttering and sorting out downstairs. I have plans to continue tomorrow as long as nothing goes wrong. I did stop at 3pm as I'm working and I'll do the same tomorrow and probably Wednesday too.1 -
Ah that sounds like a nice day yesterday and I’m sure your friend appreciates the item.
well done on the cleaning. I could do with some of that mojo! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
