You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Just to confirm. After moving address I should contact UKPCltd to update their records at DPO@ukparkingcontrol.com
But no need to contact DCBL ltd?
You just require them to inform all of their agents and sub-contractors of your new data.
Thanks, I got a response asking for my registration number. Should I provide my reg number? (by that I mean the one I had a "ticket" on).
Why would you want to conceal that?  I don't understand why you might be reticent in providing it.
Well it's info they should know if they had my full name and address. It's not always good to remind them of information they may have gotten rid of.

Anyway just checking, there's a few posts here about not calling them which seems equally arbitary hah. I'll send it over.

You do not phone these companies as there is unlikely to be  a  record of the conversation, no paper trail.  These matter usually go to court and judges love paper trails.

  • I have received a letter, like many, from DCBL for a PCN from 2016 for parking in a disabled parking bay. This is a letter of claim with a request for a completed reply form and financial statement needed in 30 days.

It appears best that I ask UKPC directly or a SAR (Which I did using rightly) however this also takes 30 days. So do I also send a mail to DCBL telling them :

     (a) I am seeking debt advice but I deny any debt and the case must be put 'on hold' for not less than 30 days under the PAP for debt claims 2017.
    (b) I have sent your client a SAR
    (c) also confirm your correct 'address for service' if you've moved and the PPC has two addresses.

    asking for a friend..

Correct steps to take BUT look again at (c) and you will see that it is an instruction to YOU, therefore not something to be put in a letter to DCBL.

And if you (or passenger - but only if true, of course) were entitled to park in a disabled bay, now is also the time to state that and attach proof (blue badge or medical information re any longterm debilitating condition, supporting the need to park where you did).  You must state this clearly.

Now is the time to narrow the issues snd ask for ADR.  The court will expect that.

Be the party who acts most reasonably and the Judge will look more favourably on you later.  Unless you dumped the car in a clearly marked and signed accessible bay to nip to the cash point or similar, with no excuse.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks, so if, hypothetically I was in the disabled bay for 5 mins because it was the only space available, then I would have no choice but to pay DCBL?

No, you still have a choice but no Judge will be on your side...unless the bay was so poorly marked you had no idea.

Can we just clear up whether either you or a passenger actually qualify to use the disabled bay?
