  • Hi

    Thanks for this.

So I can expect letters to come in the coming weeks from DCB(Legal) saying there will be a claim against me and the three tickets? Will I actually need to go to court or just provide evidence the fact I lived at this rented property for a while...

I haven't told UKPC i've moved houses. DCB(LTD) have sent me the correspondence to my new address which I moved in to last year and will continue to live at for many years. I'm guessing I don't need to get in touch with UKPC to ask them to update my new address I'm now at for their records?

Is there anything I need to prepare and get together now, for what seems the eventuality of the claim letter coming

    Thanks

That would be the silliest move you could possibly make, to do nothing.  Of course they'll file it at the old address if you don't reply.  PPCs do this deliberately!  You are sleepwalking into a secret CCJ at your old address and you will miss the claim form and be too late to defend.

Prepare?  Yes: PLEASE COULD YOU READ THE NEWBIES THREAD.

I know, they've traced you but you haven't responded so UKPC will want to file the claim at the old address, because they can, because you've been silent.  This is the same as ALL the shedloads of other cases exactly the same.

Yes, you obviously email the DPO of UKPC, same as when you send them a SAR by email (see post #2 of the NEWBIES thread about what a DPO is and a SAR).  You will be doing that email and also telling the DPO to erase your old address and rectify their data.  This has been said and done on here more times then I can remember.  I bet this thread even includes examples.

  • Thanks so much for the advice, will e-mal them today so its done and dusted

Having taken your advice and read up of previous the thread as well as the great content you put on Newbie (Post 2) I will send them a SAR and request infromation as well as requesting they update my address from X-Y

Quite a basic question but one I can't find the answer to, when you mention e-mail the DPO @ UKPC, should it be the generic sales@ukpc as is on their website or is there another one that people know of and use that I should take on board.

    My ongoing thanks

No, you'll find the DPO email on the Privacy page UKPC's website - sometimes that page is accessed via their Contact Us button.  See how that goes.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Auntie Google provided the answer.  Normally DPO addresses are on the privacy page as was this one.  Assuming the full name of the company is UK Parking Control Ltd it is DPO@ukparkingcontrol.com
  • Thank you, i've found it on there...

so keep it basic. Mention that I am on their data base and they update my records to reflect my new address, and request a SAR from them at their earliest convenience.

I'm guessing that's all I need to do / can do at this stage and not bring DCBL in to it.

Make it two separate e-mails; the first is a Data Rectification Notice telling them of your new address for service, ERASE your old data and requiring them to inform all of their agents.  The second is a SAR and do it straight away as they have 30 days to reply.  Make sure you send a scan of your V5C (assuming it is the vehicle in question).
  • 1 is for a vehicle I sold 4 years ago. The second is for a company car so is through a lease company
