I can't afford any sort of court action as would be a stain and jeopardise my job.You are joking aren't you? It isn't a criminal court case! How can a small claim in a sheriff court cause 'a stain' or even 'jeopardise' a job? And you're in Scotland, not a hope! Can I keep ignoring this? Apparently this is final reminder before court.Yes.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thank you - I perhaps read it too quickly in quick lunch hour and got the emotions going. Appreciate your reply, thanks0

Ignore it unless they start the Simple Procedure, which they won't. It is bluff in Scotland because for a single PCN there are no costs they can claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, so I’ve read the thread & my best option is just to ignore the letter from DCBL (Limited). This is from a parking charge in 2016. It was a restaurant car park, turned out I need a permit which I obviously didn’t have. I ignored the initial fine, as thats what I was advised to do at the time. Was this wrong to do? I didn’t want to appeal as I was told that if I do I am taking responsibility and would make it harder to dispute if the appeal failed. Correct me if I am wrong??So, do I just ignore now & then request SAR from UKPC?? What does this benefit me if I do this? Many thanks!0

It’s also incredibly stressing me out. The whole thought of bailiffs/court. I only have 1 or 2 letters initially back in 2016. Thought nothing of it until the new letter, 5 years later...0

Obviously the SAR gives you data - all the letters you threw away. No-one needs to ask what benefit that gives a person if they later need to defend.
What happened when you complained to the restaurant chain or manager that they didn't make the permit/exemption keypad available to you?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Right now, because of the DCBL mail bomb on old tickets, no doubt UKPC will be answering more SAR's than they are issuing tickets ...... enjoy the fun
If you get a LBA from DCBL giving you 30 days to respond, come back here for the next step.

I hadn’t complained to the restaurant or manager. If I am honest I was only 17/18, young, naive and read clearly all the wrong forums. I read that it was just best to ignore and not even acknowledge it - which I stupidly did! Now I’ve got myself into this hole, that I’m hoping I can dig out of. Any advice and help would obviously be really helpful!

Is it likely it will go further? Or is it just a mail bomb/scare tactic into getting people to pay?0
