Green Network Energy is ceasing to trade

As far as I know, EDF are still working on porting over customer accounts from GNE.
Yesterday evening I received a Welcome to EDF email, containing my new energy account number and confirmation of the tariff that I will be transferred to.
I have been able to register with energy account number, email address, etc. on EDF's customer portal, although my Contract Tracker shows that my Electricity and Gas accounts are not yet fully complete, they are showing as Registration in progress.
I will check the EDF online account periodically to see how the registration is proceeding.
It does not allow me to submit meter readings and I cannot yet view tariff unit rates within the account.
The EDF online account has my account number and sort code in place for monthly direct debit, but the DD does not yet appear in my online banking.
However my calculations lead me to believe that the tariff will result in my bills being roughly the same as GNE, give or take £5 per quarter, assuming the same usage over the past year.
My competitive GNE tariff was due to expire on 6th April 2021, so assuming my calculations are correct, I think I will stick with EDF until September 2021, as long as GNE administrators and EDF can accurately sort out final billing and transferring of any credit balances.
I am aware that there are some who are likely to be further along the registration, billing and payments process and others who are unfortunately still in limbo with the whole SoLR migration process.2 -
GNE website is now (28/04/2021 ) "Down for maintenance" , as we were warned, my EDF Account is available online, but I can do nothing on it, wont take meter readings etc, but shows my Account balance a £0, my DD has changed to EDF ( from 22/04 ) but nothing taken as yet.0

A bit of contradiction. On my first email from EDF welcoming me it says this
There’s no need to provide us with a meter reading at this stage. We’ll work with Green Network Energy to agree your opening meter read based on the meter read history they hold for you. If we do need a meter reading, we’ll let you know when and how to provide this.- You'll soon receive a closing statement from Green Network Energy — this is not a request for payment and you do not need to take any action. It will show a breakdown of your energy usage with Green Network Energy up to 31 January 2021 followed by your usage from 31 January, on your new EDF prices, up to the date we set your account up on our system.
We now need you to send us your first meter reading
We'll send this to your old supplier to close your account and to make sure that you only pay for the energy you use.
If you don't submit a meter reading by 4 May 2021 then we'll open your account with an estimated reading. This means your previous supplier will send you an estimated final bill - which could mean you end up paying them too much or too little!
So the first email says I will get a closing statement from GNE and not a bill and the second one says I will receive a final bill from GNE. Can't wait to see who finally bills me for what & what dates they start & finish

Don't forget to factor in the £15 dual-fuel discount you've lost

Yesterday when I went on the EDF web site I read this:
"Unfortunately we didn’t receive your meter reading in time. Don’t worry. We’ll agree an estimate opening reading with your old supplier to open your account."
Today I have received an e-mail from EDF asking me to submit a meter reading which I have done.!!!1 -
I managed to have a dialogue with a helpful person at EDF via WhatsApp. Ofgem are wrong when they say GNE has ceased trading. GNE has continued to trade, in administration. EDF will issue final GNE bill(s) on behalf of the GNE administrators. Credit or debit balances on these bill(s) will be carried over to my EDF account. First bill(s) from EDF will be issued around July/August.2

My understanding is GNE ceased trading 31 January.EDF stated 'You'll soon receive your final statement from GNE, this is not a request for payment and you do not need to take any action'. To me that means any final GNE balance with be transferred to EDF suggesting they will settle up with GNE. Odd way to do it.I asked EDF to whom do you challenge that final GNE bill since it appears GNE have retrospectively changed their tariffs post closure, they advised EDF. We will see2

, After over 12 months of toing and froing (and a complaint to Energy Ombudsman), TE decided that they couldn't do anything and I had to accept the incorrect final bill !
The administrators of One Select wouldn't do anything either because it was a credit - they were only interested in debtors !
Fortunately for me ,the compensation I finally received from T.E was far greater than the disputed missing credit balance.
The moral of this story is - don't trust anything that EDF tell you about the previous bill.0 -
Had the 'Welcome to EDF - We've now set up your Electricity & Gas Account' email on 14 April (as per reub075 in an earlier post). On 28 April I got an email with a Direct Debit confirmation of £26 for my Electricity Account and a link to View my Account. I have not had anything about the DD for my gas payments. Today I logged onto my account to find that I have a direct debit of £18 show on one page and on another page a notice to say that my DD is increasing from £26 to £44 at my request (?). I can only assume that the extra £18 is for my Gas and they haven't written to me.
The Contract Tracker shows me as progressed to "Meter Reading Check" and there is a space to enter my readings - although they haven't yet asked me to do that. After reading some posts to say that people have been told they are 'too late' to enter meter readings I am unsure what to to next. Might I not be getting some of my emails??
In addition I now find that EDF, having put me onto Budget Direct Debit (Monthly), will only bill me twice a year and will only ask me for meter readings twice a year when a bill is due. Not a happy bunny as I prefer my statements to be issued more frequently so that I can more easily monitor that I am not under or over paying my monthly DD.0
