OK - so I got an e-mail purporting to be from EDF, but titled "We've changed your details" and then saying that I asked thenm to change my details so follow the click link to confirm.

Well, I never asked EDF to do anything - how do I know if this e-mail is fraud?  What is the EDF contact to report phishing?

I don't know if you've got an account at my.edfenergy.com (and I don't want to look back through this thread to check) but if you do, log on to that and see if there's anything there about EDF changing your details. If it's actually happened, then it's a genuine email.

Well, well. I'd just about given up hope of hearing anything at all from EDF when I finally received a welcome email this evening. My electricity and gas accounts have finally been set up and they even have my correct direct debit details.

Just got my welcome e-mail this evening too and signed into my account.

My EDF tariff is indeed more expensive than my previous GNE tariff, and their 'guarantee' of a cheaper tariff seems to only indicate it will be cheaper if I stay with them until September and they would give the difference back.  After all of this wait though, I have no intention of staying with them.

I seem to be all set up now. My EDF bill is 22p cheaper a month, well at least 'til September :)
Just need to get that cheque for my GNE balance now.

I don't think you will get a cheque - more likely a credit on your Edf account
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

    Reads EDF communications...
"We’ll work out your final account balance with Green Network Energy. If you’re owed money, this will be added as a credit to your EDF account. This may take some time but we’re already on the case."

My account is now marked as "all done" but no sign of my previous credit balance though.

I'm not sure what to think.
My electric supply switch was 24 April, not yet it seems, contract tracker says status is 'meter reading check', and the gas supply switch 3 days later...yes I know it takes longer..but the gas contract tracker says status is 'all done'! Shambolic. Still can't any sensible answer from EDF re ddm set up, alternative tariffs or when something like a bill from anyone is likely, just please bear with us for a few more days or something like that they say.
